He got a good goal from open play last time we played a league team in this competition.  So did Fonz.  I'm not playing down how nice it is to win and score a few, but it changes nothing other than getting us through the group stages.  Scoring a goal in league one is what's needed, we know we can beat league 2 teams and that Doyle can score at that level, and he scores pens (I'm not under playing that skill, fair play to him).

The not scored a goal monkey off the back -

The not scored a goal from open play money off the back -

Ticking them off will give him a boost, even if monkeys remain.

I think MJ & Dapo are both on 4 bookings but don't know if one tonight would count like a proper game.......if so, it could be "convenient ".

You don’t know the impact of a positive result and what it does in terms of building confidence.

Evatt certainly thinks a confidence booster was needed and that’’s good enough for me.

No, it's competition specific.

Get Stockport beat on Sunday and confidence restored and we will paste Crewe 2-1

Sunday

Enjoyed that

fuckin freezing like

Picked the right team IE fair play

Clean sheet

goal for doyle

a win

players all looked well up for it and played well.  Goalie looked a little shaky.

win Sunday and beat Crewe, few players back from injury and we get back on track.

How’s Thomason doing

I like him, but not his best tonight.

Very much enjoyed that. More so being home ten mins after full time cos it was freezing!

hopefully that kicks us on, goals and a clean sheet.

Good to see Dec John coming back to form. Looked very good

Best I’ve seen Kachunga play, albeit against lower position, there’s a player in there. He could do with a goal.

that what IE is thinking more games better he gets

cant get any worse

more a provider for Doyle then a striker

shit it was cold.

kachunga superb first half, faded in the 2nd, could do with having a shot at goal rather than fire it into the box at times, isgrove good, thommason good seems to have grown a bit, declon john man of the match for me,

I'm.also enjoying this, be nice to get to a final after the years of shit.

Be the Torquay for this generation. Might even get my kids back into watching Bolton.

Should Baptsite keep his place for Sunday. Does his experience help Santos ?

He certainly did everything asked of him last night.

I’d be more inclined for Santos to get used to a more settled pairing, unless thats what what IE is going to go with in the league from now on

Edited by Rudy

Didn’t see the game last night so can’t comment on his overall performance but made an absolute howler on the highlights right at the start.

Good confidence builder. Hopefully carry that into the cup game then into the league game against bottom of the league Crewe.

Maybe Amaechi will make the bench
