Do they have anyone worth taking? First team wise I’d say no but they normally produce a few good players?

Their under 21s won 5-1 at QPR today.  No idea what their academy status is but presumably it's far superior to ours at present.

They do a good job of pilfering the Scouse cast offs. We were (and apparently still are) looking at Alfie Devine from Spurs who came through their system.

I think Charlie Hughes might fit our profile but they wont sell anyone willingly to us.

Might be administrators doing the selling though

Peeped on Latyks Speyk yesterday.

The consensus view is 'it'll be reet".

There's a structured, if bullshit, argument that the money they'll have, whilst lower than they're used to, will be massive for the 3rd tier & they'll be able to buy up all the talent and players will be staggered at their facilities. In fact they're booing to have to be beating these players off.

Beating themselves off more like.

They froze their season tickets for next season, which when relegated generally gets fans backs up. They're also more expensive than ours.

to be fair we have probably one of the best facilities for a cat 3 in the north west- its not a school field etc. its the investment thats lacking, which in all honesty is to be expected given our recent history.

One of the many reasons Phoenix need to be gone even if they stump up the requisite cash in the coming days. Players will rightfully be telling everyone they know not to touch Wigan with a 10-foot bargepole for as long as Talal and Co. are around. The club's reputation is in ruins.

Good luck to Shaun in signing players this summer (if the club even makes it that far).

ok, i take this back

off topic, i watched yesterdays game at Poolfoot Farm. First time ive actually been inside the gaff. The lad said the pitch itself was shit, but the facilities were amazing; Peroni from 11am in glorious sun probably helped, but it was a community hub; kids parties in the morning, passing traffic throughout, function in the evening, and what appeared to be decent menus (they ran out of dough), plus a mini club shop. picturesque inside and out... i've been to tournaments all over europe, and that is possibly the best environment i've seen

and i believe it brings money back into the club- its a great model

its Fleetwood Town btw, absolutely shits on Highbury
