The Marianna Trench mate ... and it's a bit wet too. Rock bottom is League 2 or beyond with little chance of anything upwardly mobile beyond the kind of League 1 stretches Morecambe have just had. That's when the turd has flushed - not before. Quote

barrycowdrill Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Moneys “in” players paid tomorrow apparently. If it’s in pay em today. also only 15 days until they’re due this month wages. No revenue to use and all players released at the end of June also get paid until the end of July (if not already signed elsewhere) they’ll be in admin before the fixtures come out Quote
DomRepWanderer Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Yet they still think they can pick up the best of the freebies and loans, fucking deluded doesn't even begin to describe these loonies. Quote

TrickyTrotter Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Extended their early bird season ticket offer twice - now to the end of the month, no doubt to raise some ready cash. Unsurprisingly people are sitting on their hands to see how it all plays out. Quote
1969 Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Heard they've only sold 25% of season tickets compared to last season So that's 250 sold.Tinpot fuckers Quote

DomRepWanderer Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Pretty sure none were asking for us to sign the likes of Nick Powell, do they not realise these days players like getting paid on time. Quote

Mantra Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Released a statement this morning saying they’ve paid the outstanding sums owed to players and staff. I genuinely find it astounding they couldn’t have envisaged this possibility that it would cost loads to run. I don’t think anyone else will take them on in their current guise unless it’s a fan like we had. Quote

Mantra Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 WIGAN ATHLETIC CAN PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING UPDATE IN REGARD TO WAGES AND THE FUNDING OF THE FOOTBALL CLUB. All remaining playing and non-playing staff have now been paid. The ownership group, Phoenix 2021 Limited, has committed a substantial seven figure sum to Wigan Athletic to secure the immediate future of the Club. The EFL has visibility of this amount. Phoenix 2021 Limited under the ownership of Mr Abdulrahman Al-Jasmi and Wigan Athletic FC Chairman Talal Al Hammad insist they are fully committed to the Club. Chairman, Talal Al Hammad, has released the following statement: I firstly want to apologise again to all staff, players, fans and wider stakeholders for the stress this delay has caused. As an ownership group we have invested well in excess of £20m since we came on board in 2021. Clearly mistakes have been made and this investment has not been spent in the right areas meaning finances this season have been difficult to sustain. This latest payment will ensure our wage obligations are secured until we finalise a sustainable budget for next season. There will also shortly be announcements made regarding board and staff re-structures which will help us deliver this. I finally again want to reassure all Wigan Athletic staff, players and fans that Mr. Al Jasmi and I are fully committed to the Club with Manager Shaun Maloney at the helm. The Club will make no further comment at this stage. Quote
