December 15, 20241 yr Popular Post I think we all need to avoid letting this get too personal and potentially abusive, our manager is a human being at the end of the day and has to his credit, had a steadying influence on the Club. i have thought for quite a while that everything has been getting too stale and a change is needed but I won't type anything I wouldn't say directly to anybody's face. Lets keep it reasonably civil chaps.

December 15, 20241 yr Popular Post I'm a tolerant person. Maybe too tolerant. It doesn't make me a snowflake or a happy clapper. But I get the feeling that Evatt bashing is getting trendy. Yes, yesterday was a complete and utter shambles and embarrassment. Enough is enough for some. I get the outrage towards him and SB. ย Expectations were high at the beginning of the season. Yes, we have pissed away far too many points, especially at home. But imo this league is piss poor and we are just another component of it. I'm of the opinion that Evatt will pull a rabbit from the hat. Tolerance has been my undoing in life plenty of times. But perseverance has prevailed too. I'm not here to change folks mind or to tell them they are wrong. My opinion may aggravate many but it shouldn't. Don't shoot me for it.

December 15, 20241 yr Letโs see what happens Friday when we go to Wycombe, get smashed and come scurrying back with our tail between our legs after spending all week wanking off over how great Wycombe are and how theyโve got a massive budget. At the start of the season, this fixture had 3 points in the bag written all over it and if we were performing as required would already be rubber stamped, good form or not.ย ย The funny thing is, everyone knows how this will go. i said to the lads around me after the Huddersfield game that my only hope was that the board didnโt fanny around too long otherwise itโd be another potential 2 or 3 seasons before we could expect to mount a solid charge and guess what, Sharron is proving that she doesnโt have the cojones to deal with this situation. sheโs too close to Evatt and thatโs a real problem. Sheโll learn from this but unfortunately the hard way. Maybe she is learning the hard way and thatโs the problem? ๐ฎ

We beat 10th, 11th (they had 10-men), 12th, 13th, 19th, 21st and 23rd. Drew with 22nd (they had 10-men) and 24th. Lost to 16th - Wigan. Averaging 2 points a game is automatic promotion form, but only promotion if the league started at Blackpool. Heโs good enough to get us promoted from league one and a half. Heโs not capable of being promoted from league 1.

My expectation wasn't high at the start of the season. Evatt has proven himself to not be up to the job and i predicted a mid table season. On top of that this league is definitely tougher than last season. I can't even believe anyone would think otherwise. We've got a team who've spent ยฃ30m, no teams in financial disarray like last season, and promoted teams with budgets to make a charge. As a result we have 3 teams on course for 100ish points and a 4th team not far behind them. The frustration is that this loyalty to him is the negative thing to do. There is no evidence to suggest he is capable of beating big teams when the pressure is on if he somehow scrapes us into the play offs. The positive thing would be to get a new manager in and take a chance.

Also the other teams are doing well because of the ineptitude of the rest of the division. I stand by my opinion on that basis. I've seen nothing in the teams at the top that makes me think they are head and shoulders above even us.ย

The 4 nil loss v Huddersfield, the 2 nil loss v Brum and the 5 nil loss v Stockport all looked like fairly even games.... The division this season is more competitive than it has been any season we've been in league 1: more big teams taking points off each other meaning the points total for the play offs will be low, but all the way down to 12th will be competing for those spots. Given our record in pressure games against rivals that definitely makes it harder for us. And the fact 3 teams are still averaging over 2pts per game in this more competitive league shows there's still some outlier teams hammering everyone. We seem to have the worst of the season 2 years ago with 3 teams getting massive points hauls and a lot of competition for the remaining play off spaces. Edited December 15, 20241 yr by Stig

That is the unforgivable bit. We went to Wembley and lay down against a team we had put 5 past previously because the team are weak mentally and the manager isn't able to sort it and seems unable to even acknowledge the problem.ย That's the thing, we aren't going to Birmingham, Stockport, Huddersfield and losing 3-2 or to a late or unlucky goal, like Posh and Blackpool did here.ย Its like we are in a division below these teams, they don't break sweat.ย This is how I don't understand this "we have players that would get into every other team" mentality, its utter nonsense, just watch the games against the top 6 and Wigan, we're chasing shadows.

We're 12 points adrift of what the target was at the start of the season and Evatt himself admitted yesterday that we don't turn up in the big games.
