Brand Evatt

We had a decent thread a while back discussing Evatt’s philosophies and approach to the game (think it got tainted and pulled)

So not a bad time to start it up again at the beginning of the season.

In the main he’s done a fantastic job. A minority lost patience round about Xmas/New Year in both seasons.

But surely now he has the large backing of the majority of fans and the brand he talked about implementing here is now well and truly established.

Good article above highlighting how he’s using Sport Science to get the squad performing to it’s optimum level.

A young, meticulous, intelligent and passionate individual, who we are very lucky to have leading our club.

I hope he gets what he deserves with promotion to the Championship.

All the analysis and data aside, I just don't get how the board can seriously be sat thinking anything else but that change needs to happen. And if they think that Evatt can be the one to change

It's shit,

People are wanting a cure, or at least a positive prognosis.

But can't see him going anywhere.

Fwiw I didn't hear any around me chanting sacked in morning and the atmosphere didn't turn like I expected.

That's more worrying as it's now expected. Yes we're 8th but I feel that's inspire of his tactics,

We need 2 new centre halves at least in January, feel our defence is now the weak part. Playing 5 at the back and a defensive midfielder, then still conceding is shocking. They made us look like cart horses today.

I don't want to tag him in case it prompts him to start posting but I can think of one poster who probably is

Plenty in esl chanting "sacked in the morning" and" Ian evatt your football is shit "

Yeah plenty of chanting. I left when the second went in as I don’t want to be in an Evatt out chanting stadium as it means we are losing and generally being shit

Gary O'Neil please.

Yes if you mean to play central midfield and be captain.

He needs to be nowhere near organising our defence at set pieces, may as well stick with IE.

If he’s to stay to the end of the season just wish they would come out and say it.

that would cut through a lot of it, then you either like it or hate but least you know.

Yeah at least that lays it out and folk can leave it for a bit

I only stayed to the end today to boo em.  I'm not a booer normally but today deserved an exception.

How can he really be using a better than 50% win rate as a measure of his tenure? Claiming it makes him one of our most successful managers, when everyone knows he would have a worse win ratio of we were establishing ourselves in the Championship, which would obviously mean he had achieved more. He needs to be more honest with himself, I'm sure winning better than 50% of matches but failing to get out of League 1 was not what he wanted to be his legacy.

Its not realistic - for one that would be treated as the fatalistic "vote of confidence" and secondly no chairman is going to give that guarantee to a manager regardless of results.

What if we lose 6 on the trot (not impossible given the fixtures before Cambridge 18th Jan) and find ourselves looking over our shoulders?

The 50% thing is when you factor in the EFL Trophy. He’s fucking miles off Bruce Rioch. Fucking miles off.

In every way

I'd genuinely have no idea what Rioch win percentage was, I know he was the better manager though.

Has the arrogant bellend not been potted then 🥱

Does he have to do post match interviews. Not showing himself in the best light as the moment.

A few Monday mornings this year I've awaited an announcement, tomorrow is going to be another where it gets to dinnertime and you shrug and say "Oh well, what did you expect? Ambition,?"

According to Wiki it’s about 48% The only “poor” team we played in 3 seasons was Gretna. Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton as a lower league side v Leeds Utd U21. It’s a bollocks stat.

Rioch's win percentage includes championship games for a few seasons and a championship promotion. The fact Evatt is trying to claim his 50% win ratio against Tinpot FC for the last 5 years makes him the best is laughable.

I'll throw my under 8s win percentage of 75% this season in for consideration.

We won about 10 games the year Parky kept us up in the Championship while the club was falling apart. That's a better achievement than anything Evatt has managed.

It's a shame because there have been good moments, but this is all leading to him coming back as manager of Blackpool next season and getting dogs abuse. Hopefully he'll take some of these bottlers with him and we'll win 5-0.

Which was my point on another thread when I said Sharron has been unusually quiet.

If you're the big boss & there's terrific strain & people wanting a manager out then say "look, we know it's tough but he's our manager & will be till the end of the season, in fact he has an x year contract which we intend to honour. Disruption now is the last thing we want".

He will probably come out next and tell us is teams XG rate is  only second to city or Liverpool or some other bollocks that doesn’t win football matches 😂

They’re probably looking at the table and recent form table and thinking they don’t need to make a statement .
