It's honestly the best weekend of the year when they are in town.

Usually never a stitch of trouble and drink the place dry. Not a room to be had in the whole area either. Love em.

Do you get the steam punk lot ? Seen them in Whitby a few tmes. They take some pub room up with them big dresses.

For a fleeting second, that did enter my head, but I then genuinely thought, "nah, surely nobody is *that* unhinged."

Jesus Christ.

Or should that be "Allah"?

Unhinged? Me? Far too mild an insult

You could be totally different in real life I accept. But your persona plays into a caricature of 'the left' that has gained traction in the US & over here -  ie Labour/Democrats are for narcissistic arts pimps and not the honest working man. Though you might be responding to Royal, Bolty etc who are on the wind up - it's not just them reading the responses.

I've no reason to be chippy about anything, I'm doing just fine thanks pal - even getting a decent pay rise this year thanks to the election outcome.

Telling an ex Marine who iirc doesn't even live in Bolton to get some mates 'who left' Bolton is fucking laughable when you breakdown the implicit assumptions.

Shame really because you post some decent, thoughtful stuff when you are not half cut.

That's a ton of arrogance, again without knowing me at all.

RW is laughable, what is a shame is that people pander to him. Ex Marine or not, he should know better. The fact he doesn't speaks volumes.

Could have gone in any of several threads, but here is as good as anywhere.

Is this a potential thin end of the wedge?

Can see both sides, but ultimately, should a political decision be utmost, rather than the best returns for investors?

It is a strange, if you insist on being 'ethical' where does it stop and who decides the 'ethics'

In the 'old days' I worked on Personal Equity Plans and we launched a 'green/ethical' scheme. Caused loads of problems as so many PLCs have a degree of investment in non ethical areas. So if you invest in a specific company whose own business is pretty ethical but they in turn invest in non ethical areas is that ok ? Was a pain in the arse.

The flip side is if a company is totally unethical dumping shit in rivers for instance where do you draw the line ?

😂 You'll never learn.

Not an insult. Just an observation.

A shame that your powers of observation don't quite run to seeing the blindingly obvious.

Not sure how or where this all ends. I suspect that the worst is yet to come.

I have a real foreboding that another Manchester Arena type atrocity may be coming. I hope I am wrong.

I'm not arrogant chief. First line in my post acknowledges I don't know you at all.

I've been dead clear I don't agree with Royals politics, I don't know him and I'm certainly not pandering to him, I do respect facts though.

So here's the rub. You advised Royal to get some friends that had left Bolton. So I pointed out that the implicit assumptions were arrogant. If you are going to act the cunt then I'm going to have to go forensic on yo ass. I had you down as a bright bloke that could read between the lines, but fuck it here we go you are probably just a bit pissed.

1) Royal Marine training is a competitive game and anyone that had been through the process would have de facto had to spend time with a number of folk from outside their home town.

2) My understanding is Royal Marine training takes place principally in the South West of England. So anyone who had been through the process would have come into daily contact with not only the diverse geographical group described above but also many locals of the South West.

3) Based on his posts I understand that Royal has worked other 'security' detail jobs that have brought him into contact with folk from outside of the Bolton area.

4) Royal IIRC does not live in Bolton. Therefore it is reasonable to assume he he has friends where he now lives offering perspectives other than a Bolton centric one.

Can't be arsed looking back but you made a comment about him making some mates that had 'left Bolton'.

He'll have shitloads that have never set foot in the place.

Now they might be of a similar politics than him due to their work and their background. But that's not what you said - you pinned it on Bolton and the leaving of it.

So it's more nuanced than you make out.

You pounsdhop Dick Whittington.

Just had a quick nosey on here whilst the sun cream is soaking in. You’ve pretty much nailed all of that.

NIC had an absolute stinker the other night, from trying to make out he doesn’t have to work nights as “he worked hard” to back peddling saying he works shifts and nights, totally contradicting his other posts, bringing his mam into the debate then picking up peoples English whilst posting comments that looked like they were in Welsh.

Poundshop Dick Whittington though 😂😂

So:

- Some kind of terror-linked horror may take place on UK soil

- May be committed by someone who doesn't have ancestry reaching back to Tudor England

- May happen in an unspecified period of time.

Under the vague statistical parameters your post inferred, you're probably right. I wouldn't bother taking it to the bookies though, the payout will be shite.

Deport all the Muslims, just in case! While we're at it, better look at getting shut of those sneaky Irish too...
