During a concert?

Fucking right they should.

They should never be given a licence to perform ever again, it'd be hate speech ffs.

If this was some Right Wing band shouting that kind of shit the outrage would be equally as justified.

Seems there's only you trying to downplay it.

I’m not downplaying it. Ive condoned them.

Right wing politicians & figureheads have said equally bad things and are still given platforms to speak.

Let’s imagine it goes to court. The prosecution says you’re inciting death and hatred to a group of people. The defence says no I’m calling for the death of an organisation with an international warrant for war crimes against humanity. Including ethnic cleansing & prolonged civilian aid blockades.

I think we all know they wouldn’t be prosecuted. And that’s not me supporting their comments or downplaying anything, just pointing out that it would be difficult to interpret it in court.

We’d have thousands of people to prosecute all over the country from both sides of the spectrum. It would be carnage.

Many venues & festivals won’t allow them to perform. Thats their choice. But you can’t legally remove their license to perform over this.

At an event like Glasto?

Have they?

To be fair, you were suggesting there was a difference in legality depending on whether the incitement is acted/in the process of being acted upon, which there isn't

Aye. I’ve said a fair bit to be fair 😂👍

I guess for me the difference is that one is a call to violently attack innocent people in your local community.

Whilst the other (as daft as it is) is a call for violence against a foreign organisation accused of genocide & ethnic cleansing. And it’ll be very easy for BV to just say he was calling for the death of the IDF as an organisation, even if he was calling for soldiers to be attacked.

It’ll not hold up in court or as a means to revoke their license to perform.

I think what the bloke said was stupid and he did it for one reason, which has happened.

But the pearl clutching from the free speech lot is fucking hilarious. Oh and the conflation with those who pleaded guilty from the race riots is utterly superb.

I think that's utter tripe.

He called for murder. Irrespective of what "accusations" have been thrown at them, they haven't been found guilty of anything.

Moreover, there are major concerns over the driving force behind the ICJ, but that's another discussion together.

The intent is clear.

The license to hold events is decided upon the local authority, so it is quite easy to envisage a situation where the event is stopped from going ahead, or has stricter controls on who plays.

It would be good if cctv was adequate such that all those joining in could be arrested.

Get nicked at a football ground for far less.

Ten tier Keir.

The reason he's said it is he says it at all his shows. This isn't the first time he's got into bother over what he says, just it was on the Beeb this time so the snowflakes got offended.

Attempting to censor/criminalise artists/music rarely ends well lol

They're a punk band.  Probably loving all the hysterics and attention.

Just don't platform them in the first place.

I think the intent is to increase download revenue.

NWA 1988:

Beat a police outta shape

And when I'm finished, bring the yellow tape

To tape off the scene of the slaughter

Ice Cube will swarm

On any motherfucker in a blue uniform

Just 'cause I'm from the CPT, punk police are afraid of me

A young nigga on a warpath

And when I'm finished, it's gonna be a bloodbath

Of cops, dyin' in L.A.

Ice Cube's net worth is estimated to be $160 million

It reminds me of the place in Edinburgh that booked Jerry Sadowitz for a show during fringe, then got the hump and stopped any more shows there when he did a typical Jerry Sadowitz show and all that entails.

You book an artist known to provoke controversy don't act all surprised and outraged when said controversy happens.

Ice T has a song with Body Count called Cop Killer, NoFX have a song called Murder The Government there's many more.

It's almost as if alternative musicians have long had an issue with what they see as authorities overstepping their boundaries.

I actually don't think he or Kneecap say the things they do for publicity

They were broadcast live on the BBC and allowed to perform on the biggest music festival in the country.

That's some platform.

Certainly not BV as I've said he's said similar many times when I've seen him. He's got in scraps before over his beliefs.

Just daft of the BBC to put them on live telly.

Fair enough, I have honestly never heard of him before this or Kneecap since it was brought to wider attention.

One thing about Kneecap is interesting though as I have read they are a satirical protest but I might be wrong, do you know more?

I don't think they're insincere

Folk have said equally bad stuff on TV without repercussion. Didn't the BBC remove it afterwards?

Have they heck - it's Glasto 😄 My point didn't depend on whether it was a stage at Glasto or someone at a Tommy Robinson event in front of a similar sized crowd.

You can't censor stuff like this. It's up for the organisers to decide. I'd be surprise if Glasto invite them back to be fair.
