In my opinion and it's just an opinion, we're a smaller club than Sheff Weds(not much) same size as Derby County, bigger than Ipswich and  Pompey. What we might lack in attendances to others, we

Left at half time, back in the pub before second half kicked off, pretty pissed before my Derby mate came to meet us after. Shit shit times with a huge amount of inevitability before a ball had even been kicked - we might be in a lower league but we’ve come a long way since then.

We left as the third went in just after half time, that was earlier than the Stoke Semi, just checked and Mason Mount scored hatrick, there was another stuffing there was it 6-0 a few years earlier, had some shit days out at Derby, the only belter was the 1/4 final in 1976.

To see us returning to Pride Park tomorrow with such a decent following and so much to be positive about draws a line once and for all under the Anderson era and all the shit that went with it.

Well remember being there for that 4-0 drubbing that effectively relegated us to League one with 4 games to go and a guy in his mid / late 20s sobbing his heart out and us trying to console him by saying things could be a whole lot worse - little did we realise how much worse they were abut to get.

Could not bring myself to go to any of the few games that remained that season and of course a short time later we had the Brentford game that was postponed and all the fun and games of Administration that followed.

Have witnessed many relegations over the years and the likes of Scarborough and Stoke but for me  it reached an all time low that afternoon

Nah, the spineless relegations at Chelsea, where Chelsea & their fans weren't interested & saving themselves for a later final, & Stoke hurt much more because we'd had a real chance of saving ourselves on the day.......whereas the more recent relegations were inevitable & didn't come as a shock.

Thing is after the games you mention we dusted ourselves down got up and we went again

You need to look  at it in context it was not just the football -  in fact the football was irrelevant - the fact was at the time the clubs staff (not just players ) were going unpaid , relegation which was now all but mathematically certain reduced the chances of us finding a buyer, there was openly talk of liquidation ,you had newspaper headlines along the lines of - will the last one to leave turn the lights off. We were a laughing stock and  we actually faced the real prospect of having no club to support. People were rightly angry -  that's why for me it was the lowest point in the 50 years i have watched them

For me, the lowest point wasn't even a game - it was when Brentford was called off for strike action

Fair enough, I was on about the relegation games in isolation, you're on about the bigger picture.

Nearly got kicked out at that game

Was stood by the segregation between the home fans

They were giving us abuse all game, mocking our situation etc

Told one to fuck off or words to that effect

Steward was straight over, gave me a ticking off for swearing but said they had been told to go easy on us due to the situation we were in

I swearingly pointed out why were not doing anything about the language from the Derby fans

He still let me off which I think was a punishment as I still had about 30 minutes of the game to watch

Fucked it off with 15 minutes to go and went to the pub

last one i went to was lennon i think

twadzik scored?

went down at ht and didnt return

back in pub before 430

It was me who called him a shit Harry Hill 😃

Though think that was a different game

They all morph into one as huge disappointment of why did I bother

Only been to Derby twice.

Once when Simon Coleman broke his leg & McAteer scored a peach.

FA cup match when Andy Walker was on his way back from his knee injury.

Remember seeing us win when Gerry mcelhinney scored, sure we played in green that night.

First time to Derby tomorrow. Think it will be a tough game but if we turn up we can get the three points. Coywm

Been to the old ground twice and not seen us win. Great place but moody as

Went to the new place about 2000/2001. Should have been going somewhere with the ex-Mrs Manc but fucked it off as I had a corporate jobby in a Derby fan’s box. Lost again (Malcolm Christie iirc), Warhurst was subbed as he looked like he was about to break someone’s leg, got gripped by a steward for calling Derby a load of cunts and the ex-Mrs filed for divorce soon after. In fact must have been 2001 as the divorce was in 2002

Never been back 😀

That was 81/2 ... the only bright day in an otherwise appalling start to the season, something in which we specialised for much of the decade. I've never known us win another league game there - its been a graveyard. Yet we've won two League Cup knockout games there in 99/00 and (more famously) 76/7.  The latter was a quarter final and they had a great top flight side at the time. The Bolton fans successfully baited Leighton James that night and we came from 1-0 down at HT to win 1-2.

Had my stag do in Derby that weekend and took in the game. Bit moody as well. Plenty coaches came down.

We stayed over. Went out at night and had VIP tickets for a club “Destiny and Elite” Who should roll up about midnight with 40 of us from Bolton in there … Malcom Christie. 😂 Fair play he chatted with us, remember him wishing me all the best, wasn’t a bad chap that night.
