Thought Victor was very good yesterday clearly the rest has had the desired effect.

Some of the stuff he does that no one sees (myself included) must be great.😂

I don’t think that’s likely to be correct. We are collecting 2 points a game, which, invariably, is automatic.

Like last season when Plymouth got 101 points, and Ipswich 98! 92 last season, we would  have finished 4th!

Think 4 of the top 6 play each other Friday, Fleetwood won’t be easy one bit but fully expecting the 3 points

Pompey have an easy ride but Oxford/Derby and Peterborough/Barnsley can’t all have the points. Stevenage/Cambridge is the other in the top 7 teams.

For me last season was a one off 3 very good sides you won’t see that point return again

I’m thinking that applies this year too. Well, thus far anyway. In fact, at least three!

Personally, I want to improve as time goes by, you obviously think muddling along is ok.

Ambition isn’t for everyone.

😉

If only there was some kind of system where results and points are collated in some kind of list or table so we could track the progress of our club over the course of time and make sure we aren't 'Muddling'.

I agree, there is no stand out team this season, so, hopefully a much lesser points total needed for automatic. Still think we will need upper 90 plus points for promotion though.

Not last season, 92 points would have had us 4th... I can see this starting to be a trend too with how different the league is from top to bottom, with big clubs with decent budgets playing against minnows. So 2pts per game might not be enough and I wouldn't fancy us in the play offs at all with our fragile mentality.

Great win though yesterday, and showed the strength of our squad - 6 changes and looked a great team still.

One player I can't work out though is Mendes Gomez. Why was he signed? No idea where he fits in in this formation

Long way to go and every top team has to play each other at some point, but I guess our job is to make damned sure that we do the business against Fleetwood and Burton rather than bank on winning at Barnsley away.

Best side we’ve played for me has been Stevenage tidy team but don’t think they’ll have strength in depth to see it through

Let’s see what others do in the transfer window I have no idea who has cash to splash Portsmouth keep getting linked to some PL loans

“Invariably”

You are right. We are about half way through the season and only us and Pompey are averaging more than 2 points a game. Last season was freakish especially second half as top 3 all went on great runs. Depending on transfer activity hard to see anyone running away with. Pompey have an advantage but sure I heard a stat that this is 3rd time in last 6 seasons they have been top at Xmas without winning promotion.

Oxford have dropped off slightly , and I do not think them or Stevenage will have squad depth to stay up there. Peterborough looked solid, Derby too, Barnsley seem to be in chaos but hanging in there. It is tight but bet365 has us as 4th favs for promotion behind Pompey, pboro and Derby.

Every game becomes a big game now, Fleetwood are in poor form but our record there ain't great, Burton I feel we owe a battering. And that could make 4 wins in a run after our 'blip' .

To be a pedant, "invariably" means "always" 🤓

He’s right, you know. (Not the pedant bit but the invariably meaning always, every time, without fail)

No chance will this season 3 promoted sides all have 96 plus points imo

I'm thinking we'll need 96 for automatics.

17 more wins from 24.

Definitely doable

Fantastic header and celebration, fast becoming a fans favourite.

Hes massively understated.

Huge player for us.

Some rough maths says that the current top 4 or 5 all have ppg level on a par with those top teams last season.

It is perfectly possible that a repeat will occur.

Of course teams have to play each other again, (as they did last season), but we're half way through, top teams have played each other, and ppg levels are still high.
