For me our set pieces are still awful and our recent defending has been awful too. Let’s hope both improve Saturday.

How many does he even get too, let alone cushion with his forehead? Perhaps the opponents mark him closely but he should then be making room for others to get in there. Toal/Jones occasionally do, and Dempsey at Wembley, but it's not common.

Still amazing and what we wouldn't do for that now. On the game v Cambridge we'll have more than enough to beat these comfortably. These are the kind of games we've been racking up the points to have us in 3rd. Anything less would be a real blow.

ph31
Confident we'll get the win one way or another. With 4 strikers to pick from, all struggling for goals and none of which fit Evatts preffered combinations I guess we'll go Vic and Bod with 65th min switch to Jermome and Collins ? The Voynich Manuscript, Machu Picchu....hell, even Jack the ripper.....buy no greater mystery remains unsolved how Santos can win every single cross / header in the defensive box..... and fuck all in the attacking box.... like a 100/0 swing! Burndens Bogs
I’ve noticed that at corners Santos just positions himself in the same crowded part of the penalty area & jumps from a standing start. Why doesn’t he try making a late run from the corner of the edge of the box? Mix it up a bit ffs, because he doesn’t get much joy doing what he always does. Aye, the old days of Allardyce charging in. Might get one or two pens too if defenders block or pull him. Wishful thinking I know.

Law of averages says one will land on his head every now and then. Steam in with a late run lad, make it yours.

If he starts launching himself into the box for corners and the ball gets cleared, can you imagine the amount of piss froth when we concede from a counter attack? Traf
If Santos stands on the edge of the box, I'd wager that they'll send someone out to 'mark' him, thus removing 2 units from a crowded 6-yard box.

Yet all clubs put their big lads up from the back on corners. Maybe leave their full backs or midfielder back for the counter.

But it's definitely nothing to do with defending counter attacks.
