  • Might be an idea to let's just watch a football match without all this attention seeking bumcbuffery.

At least him and Collins have had the balls to come out and say something.

Probably the two least to blame as well.

The silence from our club captain is deafening.

Something's not right.

Whether it's simply disappointment or something else, we don't know, though my gut feeling is that he's going.

FWIW I thought the fans seemed up for it pre-match in terms of trying to create an atmosphere/singing actual songs (more so than Oxford, as predicted) but the loud music that had absolutely nothing to do with football or either club drowned the whole thing out.  Really pisses me off that, its the same at home games to a lesser extent.

Fighting a losing battle trying to get songs going with that racket, then it felt like the momentum and atmosphere disappeared when Maghoma was being treated.  From enthusiastic optimism at kick off, to "this isn't going to be our day" in 1 minute is how it felt.

They should get rid of that fucking drum

cost me £550 for me and my boy from Cumbria by the time we paid for tickets, hotel and train, drinks etc.
And to add insult to injury the fooking train home was cancelled in the morning!!

I said to my boy during the warmup that I had a bad feeling, as the Bolton side looked so lethargic and the body language just didn't look right, mind that said I wasn't expecting that performance!!!

Not sure if many people noticed, but on the final whistle there was only Dempsey who was straight over to shake hands with the Oxford players, has to be future captain for me, was still magnanimous even after that defeat.

In regards to Evatt and coaching team - I've no idea if he will stay or resign, but very much doubt the BOD will sack him, I'm sure we will find out either way in the next few days as they will want to draw a line under this as quickly as possible.

Agree about Dempsey, his interview after the game he looked emotional, said words had been said in the dressing room afterwards. He’s mist a lot of football this season be it the injury he’s had to recover from or he’s fell out with evatt. If he gets his form back next season the lad should be on the shortlist for the armband

That's one of the depressing things. I think this season was about as easy as it was ever going to be to get out of this league. Even the top two didn't blow me away.

Thought I’d come to terms with it but it keeps coming back to the fact we have missed a massive chance to move up to the next level.

The damage was done before Iredale came on. Toal for all his strengths playing on the left of the 3 is a terrible idea. He naturally comes back inside to Santos/Sheehan every time.

Think Iredale and obviously Johnston makes us much less lopsided.

Doesn't solve all our issues but just another tactical misstep.

Its wierd when a sub comes out and basically apologises for the rest of the team making them lose the game - Iredale could have had a stormer for half an hour and we still lose that game, we all know that.

If I was him I'd want to say "sorry we lost and I couldn't turn it round but if I'd been picked from the start today and a few more times in the league, we might have gone up".  I'm not saying those are my thoughts, but if I was a half decent left back or centre back with a good left foot, I'd be pissed off at being behind 2 average LWBs and a CB playing on his wrong side week after week after week.  I don't know how they bite their tongue, let alone come out and say sorry.

Who can blame him.  Can't believe footballers have an account in the first place with all the knobheads out there.

He played badly, we lost a play off final.  He will be as pissed off as the rest of us, if not more, its his career.  He doesn't need to take abuse on line, which is exactly what will have happened because that happens with routine poor performances never mind huge disappointments like Saturday.

Must say the twitter post by Portsmouth was good banter think it started when a Bolton fan mocked Marlon pack about a promotion party

I’m not getting the Dempsey wank fest that is happening. Yes he was our best player when he came on and showed a bit of grit but it was only a few months back he was having a shit time and was very poor. Now after a decent 45 mins people are screaming out for him to be captain. 🤷🏻

As for some of the social media posts stating that Parky was a better manager than IE because he took us straight back up (with a squad of premiership and championship players) do these people not remember the dire football he served up?

Reading evatts comments about the players being accused of not turning up when it matters in previous games and him saying he as always stood up for them but not this time .
He sounds like he feels he as prepared them best he could and they haven’t listened to the instructions or the pressure as got them again

He’s a goner then. Don’t think he’s the finished article yet, but have had visions for a while of him ending up being one of those random £20m players in a couple of years.

He's been a good un but I don't think this is a bad thing. None of the other midfielders are out of contract. This leaves the slot in the squad for the midfield bastard we are crying out for. Someone with physicality and leadership.

Very odd behaviour especially from a team we beat 5-0 just a couple of months ago. They get one over us and all I have seen from our supporters is messages of congratulations to them.

Anyway, I guess we can continue to expect this, being such a large fish in a small pond, everyone wants to get one over us and fair enough, at this present moment, we are a laughing stock.

Put football changes quickly and it will be our time again soon and these small clubs won't be reveling in glory for long.

So fucking man up then. We lost to a better team. So what?

What you’ve found this season is we’ve been very disliked by other fans, this is a combination of our fans giving big licks on how massive we are & with some of Mr Evatts comments after games

Pardon ? Who rattled your cage you weird cunt.

What exactly is the problem with people having a laugh at our demise? So what? It’s not as if there aren’t Bolton fans who gloat when we beat other teams - or write off other teams as being crap before we even play them.

When it’s our turn, we have to accept it and hope next time we’ll be better. But there is zero point in worrying about it.

Exactly - some folk just need to STFU and let our football do the talking.
