Anyway. £5 million a year. Just let that sink in

And no crunch games for another 2 years.  Not GS's fault, good luck to him, but it beggars belief how overrated the job is.  You can under perform, pick the wrong team and tactics, be unlucky and still qualify for tournaments and get to the Q-Fs minimum as long as the draw isn't cruel (same applies to Germany, Spain, Italy etc).

Bellamy at Wales could over perform, pick exactly the right team and tactics, have some luck and still not qualify for the WC or Euros, just because they might be playing Spain and Belgium or whoever.

💯

I’d kind of get it if they were employing a Pep or Jose, but he’s not, he’s far from that. Baffling why the FA have decided to pay him so much.

How much have the FA made from all these finals and semis, much more than £5m I’m sure so that may be why?

That would make perfect sense if they had appointed a world class manager. They didn’t

So Kane was carrying a knock after all.

Who'd ave thunked it eh?

What a fucking shit show.

Another similarity to Evatt.

Persisting with a player who has a back injury and is well below par.

Watkins, Toney et al will rightly be pissed off.

Annoying aside, not that I think it would have made much difference, but the ball was in play during that 4 minutes stoppage time for 1.06 minutes.

Agree with that.  Scandalous lack of injury time played when you think of all the subs, the 3 goal celebrations, and as you say once we got in the 4 minutes injury time (which should have been at least 8), the ball was hardly in play and the ref just looked like he wanted it to be all over.

Same scenario v Slovakia and we would have gone home in relative disgrace, GS would have gone already and we would have been robbed of the great memories of Bellingham's overhead kick, Saka's goal, the pen shootout win, Watkins amazing winner and the wonderful Palmer goal.

Spain played the more positive football and were better on the night, no complaints about the result.

Don't think it would've made any difference but blowing for a foul on Cucurella at the end was a disgrace when we were in a good position, then Spain took 45 seconds to actually take it, then the ref blew this whistle on 90+4 exactly before we could even take our free kick.

If that was in Qatar we would have got 10 mins injury time.

So why start him in the last group game when we'd already qualified? It was the perfect opportunity to give 2 or 3 a try or a rest.

I think these questions are all coming. We were saying the same last night.

Aye

 Spot on.

Southgate did seem to admit that we weren’t great after we got back in it. Bellingham should have come off when we scored & it was left too late. He was fcked.

Too many times we were on the ropes. After their first goal & then again after ours when the momentum was there to be pounced upon.

Southgate now blaming fatigue, he had 23 fucking players to choose from, yet hardly utilised any to give fatigued players a rest, fucking lunatic.

Golden opportunity in the Slovenia game to give the likes of Gordon, Toney or Watkins and Wharton some minutes. If Kane was less than fully fit it should have been made clear that if he started he only did an hour and Toney or Watkins would do the rest of the shift.

A Spain win was probably the fair result based on the tournament as a whole and the match. However .. there's no question that for a spell after our equaliser we got on top. A quickfire second during that phase was far from impossible. Instead we did what we did against Italy three years ago at Wembley ... sat back

Oh well. That win over Holland in the semi will long live with me.

As stated earlier in the thread we are not as good as we think we are.

Kane was a waste of space in every game

Bellingham very poor except for the goal.I don't see what all the fuss was about

Foden tried to get into games but mostly failed

Trippier square pegs in round holes so not entirely his fault

Saka see Foden

He's "not liked" by fucking morons. I'm sure he'll be able to live with that.

Looks like those “morons” were right. No manager should be starting with an injured player especially when you have players who are as good on the bench ready to replace him.
