Evatt resorting back to 3 up  front today continues next 3 games going to be heavy defeats

Right, that's the 5 easy games out of the way post Huddersfield.

13 points from 15 is a positive return but we haven't really learnt anything about Evatt or the team. You can tell the fans aren't getting swept up into thinking we're great again after these games, it's so flat. Rightly so, with the amount of let downs we've had from Evatt and team this last year especially.

Next 5 will be much more useful to gauge us. We simply have to start beating some of the better teams in big games this next 5 or Evatt surely has to be sacked.

Took the words out of my mouth.

13 points from 15 cannot be anything other than impressive, and it would be wrong to disregard it, BUT it’s pretty much what was expected from that run of games (looking at each one individually).

This run coming up has always been the big challenge, can we prove that we’ve fixed our achilles heel. I’m not expecting to win them all, there’s 4 aways in there, but can you find a way to take 10 points out of them?

Genuine question,

Why is it ok to grind a win against Brum and not worry about a performance but it’s not against Burton?

appreciate we could’ve played better today but don’t get why it’s different for different opposition?

We're top of the L1 form table.

Been a miserable sod for god knows how long, but I'm going to be glass half-full for a while

Not sure glass half-full works with our fan base after an uneventful win against relegation material

Surely he hasn't got 3 heavy defeats in him, the board can't be that pig headed.

However, this is a decent back to earth post.

I always said Birmingham, Peterborough, Stevenage (thrown in with the rearrangement ) and Stockport are a key run of fixtures.

Whatever team or formation we play. It absolutely must have Dempsey up the pitch pushing on from midfield. With 2 behind him so he doesn’t have to have the handbrake on like today.

If it means only have 2 of Collins, mcatee or Charles then so be it.

Dempsey gets us up the pitch and stuff happens when he has it in the opponents half. He can go past people, can bully opponents and can win a header.

And that run into the channels that he’s brilliant at. Like you say, it means we can get up the pitch so easily - play the ball in behind their wingback / full back and you can guarantee that Dempsey is already on his way to pick it up. Doesn’t have to be a perfect ball, just stick it in the space and let him go.

Unreal engine too.

A win, but rubbish again

Very happy with another win. I actually thought we played well for the first half hour and made plenty of chances. It seemed to change after their keeper went down and had treatment. Definitely a closer game than it should've been. Thought Schon played well but Dempsey man of the match again imo.

Do we know what’s wrong with Thomason?

All that matters, but yes I agree

Was going to ask the same. Was wondering if he’d been suspended. Must be due

Firework season so he's been quarantined for the next couple of weeks.

If i was Dempsey and got brought off for that armfield i would be back on a tag.

Thing is, that's exactly where we're at: half full/half empty.

Is that enough to get promtion- no.

Can we get the level closer to the top- yes. And we'll need to.

Made hard work of beating a very poor team.

Their goal is comedy gold. Not quite same standard as 2 against Huddersfield but still funny.

But still some positives

1 Scone at LWB is improving.

2 JDC I thought did a good job as part of back 3, showed more attacking intent then when he plays as RWB

3 Dempsey trying to get forward despite the ridiculous 2 in midfield.

Takes the pressure off Tuesday but he tries in midfield there I might be home before half time.

Proper burnt out vehicle on M62 before game

Wins a win not a great performance but we take it and move on, hope he doesn’t persist again with this 2 in midfield excuse of a formation as better teams will thrash us. My biggest complaint is our defence we mess up continually at the back and this needs sorting.

Do you think he'll persist with it against Birmingham?

And if so, do you think we'll win?

1. I dont

2. I think its 50/50 who wins

Can't be bothered reading anything from the nay sayers. Had enough if them in the pub after the game.

2 things to take from today, and I can't decide which is better.......

We git the 3 points and I won £500 on golden goal again 🥳🍻😁

Should've been 2 or 3 up in the first 20 minutes, then it all went a bit stale. But we scored 2 very good goals with 3 key players missing, so no complaints from me.

50/50 overall or 50/50 if he played 2 midfielders?

I don't think he'll play 2 there, and even then I wouldn't put our chances quite that high.

If he does, then I fear Farny is on the right lines.

Irrespective of us winning today.
