Think Ethan Pye the Stockport CB has had five yellows now and is suspended for Saturday.  No excuses Whites.

Give over.

Not inconceivable the way things have gone so far. Wycombe have been in the championship more recently than us and seem to be building a decent side. Agree with arrested development though about squad strength and likely injuries

Nearly a third of the season gone, with an opportunity to bring more in not too far away.

If people are assuming an unknown will come to our aid, then that suggests a lack of confidence in our own team.

We simply have to get more consistent.

Simple as that really.

you don’t have to play jaw dropping football to get out of here. Just turning up Sat - Tues - Sat over 9 months and putting in 7.5/10 performances will get you right up there.

there is absolutely no question the squad depth, options, ability and quality are there. It’s getting the players to apply it more often which is the key.

We are prone to an 8 or 9/10 then drop to a 3. Sometimes even within the same game.

there’s such an outcry when things aren’t going as expected, not because our expectations are too high, it’s because we all know these players should be delivering more often than they are.

Yep.

Like most, I want IE to succeed and get us up.

Still not convinced though, and I still see him making some unusual comments.

I felt his pre Birmingham thoughts were negative for example and we played like we were already beaten.

All very frustrating.

We simply have to go and get a positive result at Stockport now but they will be determined to avoid two home defeats in a week. This is when I worry about us being able to dig out a result so hopefully they keep making me eat my words.

Should be beating these, no excuses. They have won 2 league games out of their last 11, just been pumped 5-0 at home, and barring the Birmingham game we are on a good run.

Hoping we can put this local game 'curse' behind us with a win this weekend, and with Blackpool and Wigan coming up, this game could turn out to be very important. COYW

3 teams that look average to poor and without having any kind of local / big game element to it you’d back us to win each one.

Perfect opportunity to put this big game thing to bed and beat them all (I’d take 2 wins and a draw). Do that and we’ll all be talking promotion again.

On paper there's absolutely no reason on God's green earth we shouldn't be beating Stockport, Blackpool and Wigan.

Only mentality and tempo will stop it.

I hope we have some back before them though. Thin on the ground and few options.

Happily be in Portugal for this one. Still get nightmares about the FA Cup game. ( Never liked the Blossoms and now cant stand Stockport)

First goal is decisive.

these are the games we'll find out if we've turned a corner

or, if we're still shitting the bed

We have to beat them fuckers this year

This is probably are best opportunity to beat all 3 especially them Wigan *****

Evatt needs to turn is form around against the top 6 and derby games starting now . Till that happens we won’t go up

Baxter available if IE wants.

Good news.

Good. Southwood has done pretty well but it’s no contest for me.

generally, id agree as baxter is exceptional

but i reckon southwood may be better with his feet

still baxter for me, but if he goes, as i suspect he might, id not be worried about the future

Baxter for me, but it’s a closer contest than I would have expected a few weeks ago.

Agreed. But I do think Baxter is 100% bought in to the slow pace, build it up, tippy-tappy whereas Southwood seems more inclined to move it quickly.

Is that simply a change instigated by Evatt though, and just coincides with Southwood coming in?

I can't see one simply playing differently to the other and not following a predetermined method.

I'd have agreed without Stevenage away.  A couple of great saves in the preceding games but he looked iffy on crosses (reluctant to catch) and that was poor for their goal, if it had been a game decider he would have got more scrutiny than he has.

But he's obviously a good character and a decent enough keeper so nothing against him, but I'd want Baxter in for Stockport and Blackpool especially if there's a perceived aerial threat

Southwood is perfectly good enough for this league. Baxter is perfectly good enough for the Championship.

As soon as he’s fit, he’s back in.

I agree he only comes back in january to be sold, unless we have a manager change

Cracking goal he scored tonight but very little else

If thats typical, nobody is going to offer enough to tempt us, imo

Why not bring him back if we can. I would pay off Arfield as he is not up to it.

So if you had a choice Arfield or Morley ? The Morley of 2-3 seasons ago is a clear winner, the Morley of last season still IMO better, this season not seen him play but can not see him being worse.

Can’t see Morley being happy to come back here just to warm the bench.

There’s no way he’d be a regular starter.
