February 2021: Scholes himself was later seen flouting rules again by taking a hike on Saddleworth Moor with four friends, even though government guidance at the time limited exercise to only one other person outside your household. 

Neighbours reportedly accused Scholes and his family of having a "blatant disregard for the rules" and setting a bad example as a public figure and role model.

So the long and short of it he played a bit fast and loose on Covid restrictions on his own property in Saddleworth. Unfortunately leafy Saddleworth just happens to be in the same local authority area as say, Glodwick, where covid was running amok. Hardly the smoking gun you were hamming up...

I remember saying a good while ago that the art of taking "pub humour" comments as they were intended has been lost on here simply for the sake of arguing. I think this applies here.
