January 17Jan 17 Good performance, new keeper looked sound, shape looked good, just need to improve finishing. Season defining moment?
January 17Jan 17 Far better shape today, suited us a lot more, got more out of more players, Conway, Dalby for example. Managed the last 10 minutes very well. McAtee and Dempsey did well when they came on. Wigan are abysmal
January 17Jan 17 Are we still sacking him then? Set of bloody wet wipes who voted yes! I told you Sheehan was shite! 😂
January 17Jan 17 A proper away performance at last. Thought Dempsey and Mcatee both had really good cameos as well.
January 17Jan 17 Fantastic result, good enough performance and a team that at least looked like they were fighting and with the man in charge. Can't fault much at all from today other than the missed chances.
January 17Jan 17 Popular Post Well done to SS for making changes and shutting up the endlessly negative twats on Twitter Hopefully this result gets us back on track
January 17Jan 17 Dominated the game, really one sided bar that one chance for Wigan, new keeper had no saves to make That's our first away win all season vs 11 men in normal time without the opposition down a man or us having a extremely rare, perhaps once in a lifetime comeback win in added time with 2 goals, so it's a huge win and hopefully means something going forward. It wasn't without fault of course, you'll not always get a deflected goal and without that we'd be ruing our misses again, but we won, so well done and on to Stevenage 👍
January 17Jan 17 Popular Post Well done SS and all concerned. What a way to end a shit run of results. Some bottle shown there today. Second season running where we have given the pie men a gut punch of a late winner in their own backyard. You will all know that is three out of three against them now. I think that is the first time we have ever done that v them re league games. However did you know it is only the second time we have done the double over them? (92/3 Rioch promotion year was the other). Just what was needed in the context of the season, especially given it has come away from home. However for now let us just dwell on this result in isolation. Wigan 0 Bolton 1 - a pleasure to type it out. As I said last year, right back where it all began in the first ever fixture v them in 1983. We are making up for the Evatt years in this fixture.
January 17Jan 17 They were solid today, was concerned we didn’t take the chances but some effort from Sheehan that too. well done. A few weeks frustration put to bed there…. Until Tuesday! Dalby held it up well today.
January 17Jan 17 No reason to change anything at Stevenage, that shape worked, looked solid and gave us the platform to get more crosses in than usual from decent areas. Stevenage no free flowing outfit, go there and start from the premise of clean sheet first

I was a touch concerned when we took him off, as I reckon he was quietly playing the anchor man. Anyway, deserved win, more solid, more aggression and fight. Still some finishing issues, but one goal is enough if we keep a clean sheet. Well done to them all. Hopefully, getting some off the books has helped.

January 17Jan 17 A world of difference to the last few weeks. Fully deserved and probably should have had a couple more on another day. Tremendous performances right the way through.

January 17Jan 17 That was much better night and day between how we played that system last year...More compact, quicker and no need to invite teams to press high Same again Tuesday
January 17Jan 17 I doubt we'll see the same, given he as mentioned tiredness recently, Stevenage in bad form, but it's hard to imagine any team being as poor as Wigan were today and that's taking nothing away from Bolton, 'cos we were far superior.
