Just hope SS sticks with the same line up for Tuesday, they looked so much more like a team and we now need to build on that and let their confidence grow. Should have been a bigger win but that should really give everyone a big lift tonight. Well done Wanderers a real team effort.

Every one of those players deserves a seat on the bus on Tuesday.

Even McAtee... never been a big fan of him but he played well when he came on today

Luton and Lincoln have drawn which is a decent result

Yep and all our local nearest and dearest. Fucking love to swap places with Blackburn.

I like Sheehan but suggesting he dictated the game is short-changing several players who drove us forward in what was a long overdue team performance today.

I can understand Wiganers going for that cliche because it’s like saying “Bolton only won because they have one good player”  - rather than admitting that we were better than them pretty much all over the park - which is a harder pill for them to swallow.

Agree entirely.  If anyone thinks Sheehan dictated the game (both halves), they weren't paying proper attention not only to him but what others were or weren't doing.  And god knows what they'd make of his better performances.

He's played well every time he's come on this season IMO.

But some folk just don't like him, SS is probably one of them based on his lack of game time compared to Burstow and Dalby.

Working today so didnt know we won till about an hour ago did we play a different system today 5 at the back ?

Sheehan in my opinion had a very decent game and capped it with a great strike. Excellent display.

By no means saying the Sky Sports + commentators view should be gospel (though Dan Windle also does Talksport and is alright) but he had him as best player on the pitch before he scored

We played a lot better than previously, with a better shape, which suited the players. Well done SS. But how poor were Wigan in their cup final. Considering how much it means to them.

Tickle gifted us the 1st goal at our place too, gave the ball to Gale in front of goal.

Looked dodgy off that decent shot from Simons too.  Not seeing a good keeper there, does he only play bad against us?

A reason he's wasting away in league 1 still.....never seen him have a great game..... admittedly a good chunk of them against us he had nothing to do.

Still, a championship club would have had a punt by now?

Been pushing for Mcatee to be in the squad if when SS changed system. He struggles up top on his own but if SS stays with two up top from now i think he may still well have a future at Bolton

Johnston, Forino and Toal as a 3 with Conway and Tutu as wing backs

They’d be spot on tbf, he was brilliant today. Set the tone getting stuck in early on and, for me, no coincidence that he seemed to be playing 10 yards further forwards than usual and looked much better for it.

May be the 3 might be the way forward away from home . We need to find consistency with team and formation but as long as we have the flexibility to go two wingers when needed . Gale with is pace is a great option of the bench

I'm a big Sheehan fan but agree with @Wanderlust that it wasn't one of his better games - poor 1st half, decent 2nd half and good to see him getting fired up with the crowd in line with upping the tempo, not sure I've ever seen him gee the crowd up in 5 years!

Re those stats, do they include corners.  He took 2 corners in the 1st 10 minutes, both failed to beat the first man, the ball broke back to him from one, crossed again, 1st man cleared easily again.  Really poor, but still an 87% pass accuracy, surely corners don't count?

Anyway him and ACD are the only players to score 2nd half winners twice this season, this is the player SS subbed before H-T last week.  Those 2 players stay on the pitch for me unless we're already winning.

Strange how we can watch the same game and have different views. Ironically I have not always been a massive Sheehan fan but thought he knitted everything together today. Given the substitution last week good to see there was no hangover from that.

No idea if they include corners. Just watching the Arsenal game and they use a similar corner routine to us with everyone coming from the far post, but we seem to have free kicks against us everytime

Few people have mentioned McAtee and Dempsey doing well which is true but god McAtee loves a little flick when we need to just hold the ball. As I say overall was good but those little moments late on had an old man like me panicking

When is the wales World Cup qualifier hopefully not at tail end of the season ? We might have Sheehan missing may be for a week or so if it’s two legs

The point being, if you get a shot on target in L1, you might score.

Our problem is, most of those shots from where Sheehan was, end up in the crowd, just get the damn thing on target and you might either score, get a jammy deflection or keeper spills it for Burstow to tap in from 8 yards (we can hope!).

Definitely this. On target and you give yourselves another chance whether it's a corner, spill, mistake, whatever.

Stevenage at home

Manager in he knows what hes doing lark.      Wow,  what have the resident pricks on here got to say ?

Pride passion effort and heart.       We saw that today and anybody who wasn't there will not understand.

Mention for Bonham, didn't have a lot to do, but looked very calm and assured in everything he did.
