Schumacher mentioned it in post match something along the lines of Gale needing width to be effective and this not being his kind of game.

Could be diplomatically saying his attitude last week stank, mind 😀

Given he's contributed more than Cissokho overall this season and is here permanently, I'd rather be giving Gale the opportunity and the minutes.

But in fairness SS's man management has appeared pretty good this year (keeping McAtee onside when he clearly didn't fancy him) so hopefully it was a temporary demotion.

Absolutely, its infuriating to watch, so it must be annoying for the strikers too.  The Postman wouldn't have been in the team at all with inverted wingers, I don't think I ever saw him use his left foot.

I don't understand why it has to be both wingers inverted. If we've got an option like Morais you'd play him in the right and a right footer inverting on the left surely?

Seem to remember Johnston playing left wing as a right footer (albeit very two footed) with Johansen on the right when we nearly got promoted in 2000.

Having a more orthodox winger whipping crosses in and one who cuts infield could pose problems and give us a way of playing Gale or Cissoko if Apter's form doesn't improve

I thought Moylan looked good, Draper too and McCandless? he looked good for this level of football. Expected CBT to skin Diakwa all game but after a bright start he faded and Apter disappointingly never even got started. Some good performances in there too though. Quite impressed with Lincoln but not overly. A physical side but not whinging about it, I think if we could add some of that to our game we’d get a better chance to show our quality. Someone mentioned earlier that’s how Big Sam’s teams did it. An old school Lever Ender lives at Scampton near the old  base, Ginge, Ginger or more correctly Kev Lawson. Scooter boy who organises huge charity rides across the country etc, good lad. He features in the Quadophenia film a few times 🙂

Wondering if it’s the same Ginger I knew from the Lever End back in the day who was a bovver booted skin at the time and not averse to mixing it with opposition fans?

Proper old school Ginger. Good lad.

I saw a lot of folk saying Lincoln were much better than us, but personally I didn't think they were.

They were extremely effective though, and we always see sides like that who are well organised do well in this division. Had enough chances to put the game out of reach of us but Bonham had a fantastic game, been a really calm head since coming in.

Think we will churn out enough points especially over the next 6 weeks, but whether Lincoln drop enough in the same course for us to leapfrog them I'm not too sure.

Surely they will have a dip in form at some point? 🤞

Hiya Bolty, Wanderlust, that’s the fella! 😉

Ah - a few memories of him kicking off and me getting dragged into it 😀 Nice enough bloke but a bit of a firestarter up and down Manny Rd.

What will be will be from now on... keep going until the numbers tell you otherwise. I strongly suspect the play-offs but there's still a lot of footie to be played.

I know Scampton very well, I was a Contracts Manager at Lindum Construction in the late 80s/90s and RAF Scampton was "my" site, we did a lot of work there; now its closed they keep trying to make it into an internment camp for all these pesky immigrants much to the locals' disgust.

Never come across Kev Lawson but I am a former Lever Ender also. The only local scooter boy I know locally is Jason who had the Modern Cafe at the bottom of Steep Hill, was a haunt for scooter riders but he is out and out Chelsea, I prefer a bit more muscle between my legs and like to frequent Cadwell Park.

I understood there was a consortium looking to develop the Scampton site or has that been scrapped?

There were plans put forward a few years ago to develop the site for "!tourism and research" but these were derailed by the Home Office taking an option to use it as a immigrant camp. Then after wasting the thick end of 100 million quid the plans were U-Turned and the unused accommodation modules scrapped.

Personally I thought it would make an ideal camp... securely fenced and draughty as fuck up on the cliff in winter. Take their phones off them, deliver some chapatis and rice and the odd halal goat every day and offer a free bus to Humberside Airport and home once a week... they'll soon be queuing up.

Kinell, how much compo would they get then! 😀

No compo... they have broken the law by invading a sovereign state.

I'd also send Queen Ursula and Macron the bill for their upkeep calculated just like a student loan... just to prove they are being treated like our own citizens

Never heard of them, looked them up, not for me.

Trouble is you couldn’t lock the little darlings in so thankfully the idea was scrapped. I believe the original plans put forward by the Council and Scampton Estates are still in place but they’ll have to purchase the land from the Home Office. It’s a vast site though, around 800 acres so it’ll take some filling but as they’re planning to keep some of the original buildings for a heritage trust it will I’m sure attract a lot of tourists with its historical presence. When I lived in Cherry I often used to get free shows with the Arrows coming over when they were training as well as the odd Spitfire doing aeronautics. Happy days.

I know the Wishing Well pub in Cherry, one of my bike racing muckers came from there. I lived in Saxilby close to Scampton and then Thorpe on the Hill... these days I'm amongst the cows and grass between Grantham and Stamford. Still get the Arrers coming over quite regularly.

Beginning to remember now... Scampton is a bit more refined than Manny Road, a bit posh to be honest

Before stretch limo's were a thing in this country me and a lad i worked with went to Stockton on Tees to fit a windscreen in a Lincoln, it was a huge American import known as a "Lincoln Towncar".
