Traf Posted Saturday at 21:35 Author Posted Saturday at 21:35 L2 & National League finals should be in the Midlands. EFL only use Wembley as it's a cash cow. No consideration for the fans. Quote
Popular Post Ani Posted Saturday at 21:58 Popular Post Posted Saturday at 21:58 I have no problem playing at Wembley, I would have no problem if it was scheduled in Midlands or even Manchester. The biggest issue for next week is kicking off at 1 on a Sunday with a weeks notice. I see coaches advertised as setting off from about 4:30 ! Think there are 2 trains from Manc that get to London early enough to make the game. But we all know the Premier League comes first. Quote

You can not leave booking the stadium till the Thursday the week before. Of course you can. You move swiftly once the four play off sides are known and select two or three stadiums based on the geography. Combinations of Bradford/Bolton/Stockport/Stevenage would have means putting Old Trafford and Villa Park on standby. All very simple. Had Luton been in the play offs Wembley or one of the larger London grounds would have been in that mix. Quote

And it wouldn’t feel right not being at Wembley, to me at least. The main issue is a) the early kick off and b) how late they left it to announce it Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted Sunday at 06:05 Posted Sunday at 06:05 The game is on the club Wembley season ticket of whatever it’s now called, with all England games, fa cup final and all play off finals. It’s always going to be Wembley which I can live with, but as above it’s the kick off time which is ridiculous. Quote

It's called having a can-do attitude rather than pandering to bureaucratic inertia - something that is rife in this country. Quote

My work has tickets in the Bobby Moore hospitality, but this season they have dropped the play offs from the fixture list (which is annoying to say the least). Quote

Bit longer for bigger ones. Wouldn't trust those buildings in fairness, but where there is a will... Anyway, back to the point, Wembley is amways going to be the location. At least for the foreseeable. Quote

Given the semis only finished Friday if you do not have a venue picked beforehand you are tightening an already tight timescale. Add in it is also the final round of EPL games that weekend. So City and Liverpool both at home your choice is limited and that is before policing etc is considered. But you would be asking clubs who use their ground to host a range of events some small, some large, not to book anything in just in case 2 local teams are in the play offs. The alternative when Wembley was not available was Cardiff The biggest problem as I see it is not Wembley but kicking off at 1 on a Sunday. Given the bureaucratic inertia you mention getting a major sporting event organised in 10 days is a good effort. Quote
Bradshaw White Posted Sunday at 08:20 Posted Sunday at 08:20 All a bit flat ain’t it compared to previous trips to ‘Reebok South’ - club are usually posting updates which drives a bit of hype up. We’ll do well to shift another 10k. Quote

I only know that the “included” games changed this season for Bobby Moore, which is the higher level of hospitality (not the tier 2 seats). Don’t know for sure on the tier 2 seats. We (my company) apparently had the option to buy our seats for Sunday (which we didn’t take…) so maybe it’s the same for club Wembley. I have asked someone I know to ask the question of their contact at Wembley hospitality. Quote

In any event, I’d rather pay and go to the game and get pissed at the pub with my mates, than go for free and spend the time entertaining clients. Quote
Lostock Whites Posted Sunday at 08:53 Posted Sunday at 08:53 (edited) I imagine we will sell a lot of the upper tier tomorrow onwards with lower tier all but gone My parents used STs, me and 4 others waiting for member sale tomorrow. Edited Sunday at 08:53 by Lostock Whites Quote

TBF I have done a few corporates but hardly ever to stuff I cared about. Did OT a few times twice when we won but we were the guests. The 1-2 game I was asked last minute to get extra bodies as people had dropped out. My dad, his mate Stuart, Ilkley white and his missus, 2 lads from Bolton branch someone to drive us all loved the prawn sandwiches. One of best ever games. Quote
