Mounts Kipper
His time is up, had more than a fair crack of the whip, turgid boring, bad team formation, too slow making subs to change the game, has not got a clue or even worse does not care what the fans want, completely at odds with everything BWFC used to stand for, contrary to his view of BWFC we are not a team or club who will put up with his tactics which mirror the last 18 months of FSA reign, in short a bad appointment that needs terminating immiediately. Zozzy
I would rather BWFC be successful than "entertaining" whatever that means. To me 3pts is the only entertainment I need. Megson so far as done his first job of keeping us up last season against all the odds. He is on course to complete his second job of keeping us in the top flight this season. He was close to signing a flair player/creative midfielder in the last window(I believe there were at least 3 he was chasing), and I am sure he will bag one of them in the january window. It would be madness to disrupt the club with yet another manager so soon, it would mean risking relegation. Stick with him and he will make slow and steady progress back to where we want to be. Guest pansyroadwhite
gotta admit i was dissapointed with yesterdays performance just looked like two poor sides cancelling each other out, i understand playing that system away from home but couldnt we just try to be a little more adventurous at home? Bobcat
you know what.. I made the effort yesterday after being slightly boyed by the West Ham result a ?15 ticket and the club making the effort generally... Now as most will know i aint a Megson fan at all...after the West Ham result his popularity slightly increased, however yesterday was his biggest showcase...fully fit squad and to see how he would start...would it be slightly more attack minded at home? Thought the first 30 we did ok...then we got completely overpowered when we are under pressure we look very nervous and half time couldn't come quick enough... second half much the same...3 very bad missed headers, 2 from o brian and 1 from roberts and a great effort from taylor after a fine Bolton move could of seen us win the game... but when steinsson went off...we looked poor...JOB got battered... and pushing davies up front just didn't seem to work...and our failure to convert one of the many corners we had was very frustrating against a keeper who i consider to be very dodgy.. Salamander...not sure at all...his toe poke in the first half was a good chance for me.... Our home record is poor...without a win since the opening day....and that will be what will determine whether we stay in this division.... Megson fluffed it yesterday...he didn't have a clue how to step it up when needed, whether that be because of the lack of quality on the bench or his lack of technical know how.. The only highlight was the yoof in the ESL...they are worth ?15 of anybody's money to listen to them for 90 minutes
ZiggyStardust
I'm sure I heard on MOTD last night, Megson complaining that the game yesterday was 'too open'. FFS, I shot on target between the two teams, overcrowded midfield, and anti-football from both teams.
Moderators Horwich Posted October 19, 2008 Moderators Share Posted October 19, 2008 We got lucky against West Ham. Didnt play too bad but their goalkeeper gave us 2 goals. That aint gonna happen every week. When you have a team full of people who dont know how to score, you are gona struggle.

clown
Is it not fair to say that we've not got a bad foundation at all here - all the way through the side we've got bread and butter players who are grafting a trying to play a bit of football. Now all we need it a bit of jam. Centre back needed - we don't have enough cover there Creative midfielder needed Striker needed With a bit of luck we can do as we're doing and picking up enough points so that we can resolve this in January Eternal optimist (again!!!) jolly-olly
JOB is stealing a living. He is poor, slow and lazy. The game was crying out for width so what does Megson do? He waits until 4 minutes to go before bringing Riga on. WTF?

He waits until 4 minutes to go before bringing Riga on. WTF? the only way you get riga on to the pitch is take off taylor seeing as hes generally our best chance of creating from a free kick or corner, it wasn't going to happen in the 4 minutes, those of us without an agenda saw riga give a ball away very cheaply, turning what should have been us going forward into us having to defend megson went 4-4-2 when gardner came on - put the left footed taylor out right (no doubt that was a bad decision, too) and he nearly scored fwiw, i did question the choice of job over hunt when we needed a right back
exiledwhite2
the only way you get riga on to the pitch is take off taylor Don't understand that Casino It sounds like an acceptance of Megson's refusal to take a risk Come the end of the season, the teams who win the least games will probably go down These type of games he should be gambling and getting some more firepower on for the last 30 minutes He I too negative and Mounts is right - the fans are waiting to stick the knife in. It will come.

With it being a local derby and without much space he needed the time to adapt. 4 minutes was just pointless in my opinion. Also, I will never understand the reasoning for bringing all 11 men back to defend corners. They had about 3 men just oustide the box everytime just waiting to hit a knock down back into the box or crack a volley into the net.

We've had this before but I agree 100%, makes no sense at all, but people will say 'how often do you see someone collect a cleared corner and score'. Completely missing the point of course. JimmyRiddle
the only way you get riga on to the pitch is take off taylor Or take Davies of or move him as he was awful. Ince put Oojier at left back and he completley played Davies off the park, maybe a tricky winger may have given him more to think about. Only took the genius that is our manager 86 mins to realise this. Edited October 19, 2008 by JimmyRiddle
Tombwfc
Blackburn had every man back at corners. Arsenal did the other week aswell. So it's not just Megson. And of course the fans are waiting to turn on him, they have been since he got the job. If we won the league we'd still only ever be one defeat away from 'Megson out'. Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion
Turgid game, shame really as those paying ?15 will unlikely to attracted back. Reinforced my opinion that much skill and quality has been taken out of the side and replaced with workrate. Nothing I saw makes me want to come back every match. Sorry Zozzy but 3 points aint the entertainment I need, and if it were two wins from eight aint much for those who only care about winning. BWFC_LOVE
Before the international break, we appeared to have turned the corner. It's always a scrappy contest against Rovers, no matter who's in charge. And fans chanting for Riga, when we were in our best spell of the game, and on top? Why? It's always a scrappy contest against Rovers, no matter who's in charge. And fans chanting for Riga, when we were in our best spell of the game, and on top? Why? Just can't understand not playing Gardner after the game at West Ham. There is no point in playing Elmander and Davies without any pace beside them. I only go to watch out of loyalty nowadays. I'm afraid that we are due for another long boring season. We will stay up with about 2 games to go with 40 points and Megson will be hailed as a hero. Then same again next season. As far as attacking football is concerned, I'm afraid that he hasn't got a clue.
