Woah, wait a minute, we haven't won in 5 matches, 2 points off bottom and we buy.........a championship division 1 player FFS

It's a talented player for the future, very little money is being spent, so i see no problem at all. So we have bought a youngster from the Championship, does that mean Megson will buy no other Midfielder in the window? Do you really no what is going on behind the scenes? I will reserve my judgement until the window closes and until then, i have faith in Megson.

Nobody who has played in the championship or league 1 has ever made it in the premiership, did you not know?

I know it's only the NOTW but direct quotes from Megson on this....................

GARY MEGSON has secured the ?1million capture of Mark Davies.

Bolton boss Megson had a ?650,000 offer rejected but upped his bid to meet Wolves? asking price for the midfielder.

Meg said: ?Mark is a player we have been aware of for a couple of seasons and he?s got massive potential.

?My assistant, Chris Evans, has known him since he was eight and we believe he can make the step up.?

Davies, 20, has spent the past two months on loan at Leicester.

Agreed, we shall see what/if we have a midfield player that we all agree is good after the window closes.....Personally, i have seen nothing in Mr Megson to have any faith in him, i just have faith in my club......even when we get shat on by them

"He reminds me of Gazza at his best. He is special and can do things that you rarely see. He would play a massive part in the pearson revolution if we can get him. Milan must gamble and offer Wolves money that they cant refuse."

And -

"Just got home from a freezing afternoon, warmed up by a cracking team performance and a stand out show from Davies in particular.

I said on a post a few days ago he is full of quality and drive. Its a pleasure watching the lad push forward. He's got excellent close ball control at feet and running with it, pushing the defender back all the time is fantastic.

MOTM for me in a team full of contenders."

Sounds promising

I like these type of signings hopefully he can play a part sooner rather than later.

I'm happy with it too.

Unfortunately, because he's not an established Premier league player, Megson's on a hiding to nothing.

I think it's excellent news that we're in for a young promising ENGLISH player.

Another one.

To go with Cahill & Muamba.

We will stay up this season anyway and Megson is providing a base for the future.

Tis true do we look long term to bring in young hungry players that will be with the club for years to come or do we look short term for journeyman who will top up there pensions.

Remember the next couple of games are all winnable games.

Let's not hang Megson until the end of the season if we go down.

We needed a miracle in April and he came up trumps for us.

Keep the faith :yahoo: :yahoo:

He must be able to do the dentist's chair as well! Sign him up

It shows how Megson is trying to bring the average age of the squad down, when Gardner finds himself the 3rd oldest outfield player behind Davies and McCann.

Davies is the oldest, he turns 32 in March: compare this to the ages of the players we've used in recent years.

Spot on, i am really impressed with the way at which Megson is trying to take the club forward

Entirely agree with your comment. Rome wasn't bulit in a day n' all that. If we survive this year (which i honestly believe we will). Next years team will have a solid foundation, and i can see us pushing on again. :good:

Me too, i was getting a bit pissed off with the "Johnny Foreigner" tag we had under FSA.

The nationality of the player is irrelevant. talent is what counts. Yes it's good to have homegrown english players in your team but if it means having a team with more foreign players than English then so be it. I would gladly have a team full of foreigners if it meant a better team.

I forgot to mention that SSN are saying Wigan have also bid for him. I suspect the lad who said he is going to Bolton may have better information.
