HomerJay Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 id love to see ngog up top, with mavies off him. holden and muamba/nrc in the middle
Didledee Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 If Coyle drops Knight and K.Davies against Arsenal, he'll be doing the right thing, think he might with freight knight, but I think Davies will start, he doesn't deserve too, it's only the armband and several years of service that's earning him a starting place imo, and that's wrong. Holden in for NRC, Petrov back in, N'Gog for K.Davies, M.Davies or Tuncay in for suspended Klasnic, Eagles or Kakuta right side, Steinsson in for Boyata, Wheater or Boyata for Knight, Bogdan or Jussi, not bothered.

birch-chorley Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) How did the much-maligned Muamba play? I still reckon he's our best option as a holding midfielder, so that Superman Holden can push forward. He played OK, difficult for the lad as he has been out a couple of games, he looked a little nervous about giving the ball away early on so he tended to nock it back to the keeper / defenders quite a bit instead(kept possesion mind). As we scored and got a bigger grip of the game he seemed to relax more. Muamber and Holden sat in front of defence and won most things coming through the centre. It was out wide that we looked most vunerable again, Villa got out wide alot and if it wasnt for very poor crossing we could have been in trouble. Both us and Arsenal seem to be vunerable when defending against wingers getting crosses in, I think the damage will be done out wide on Saturday. I can see OC sticking with 451 with Holden and either NRC / Muamber sat infront of back four and one from Mavies or Pratley Supporting Ngog, Eagles / Petrov wide. SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Just in case you haven't seen it... SSN Highlights
Ghana White Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Thought Muamba did what he's good at very well, he continually broke up their play, unfortunatly he's got no vision but if he plays it simple like the majority of last night he can help run the game. Holden was fantastic for his first game back hope he keeps improving. Liked Ngog upfront and Gardener had his best game in years. Wheeter did the business again, surely he's worth a run out Saturday. Even the atmosphere in the Bolton end was good, hopefully sign of things to come.
SHAT Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 ace pic Made me laugh that.Looks like a shit boy band!
glossopWANDERER Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 drop petrov for me as most of the goals have come down his side because he is useless deffending and only provides us with the very od good run and wipped ball in the rest of the time he is a waste of space. dont understand why most see him as one of the first names on the team sheet so far this season.

Petrov is there to run and provide crosses, Robinson is they to defend, which one is not doing his job
Didledee Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Petrov is currently our player of the season [not hard I know] dropping him would be unfair and he'd be thinking what's the point!?!
The True Marple White Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Petrov is currently our player of the season [not hard I know] dropping him would be unfair and he'd be thinking what's the point!?! Agree there, petrov has been a great outlet this season so far, and pit in some great balls
glossopWANDERER Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) Petrov is there to run and provide crosses, Robinson is they to defend, which one is not doing his job they should be working together and petrov does not give any suport to his full back no mater who is there. if we play 4 5 1 with two defensive midfielders who can provide cover wide when defending then petrov has a place in the team but when we play 4 4 2 he is liability and will cost us more goals than he makes. birch-chorley Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Thumbs up for Petrov from me as well, the reason we have got in trouble down that side is more down to the left back than left mid for me.
Guest bwfcdan Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 No need to drop Petrov. Drop Robinson and get Ricky G in at left back.
The Wanderer Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Gardner had a great game last night, did make a couple of mistakes but cant remember the last time he played at left back. Cant see why he shouldnt be pushing Robinson for his place in the team. Fabrice Muamba, if told solely to brake up play and concentrate on the defensive side of midfield, is class, its when he starts galloping upfield like a three legged racehorse he makes a show of himself. 4-5-1 Away from now on, wheater has to be given a chance. Muamba, Holden and NRC in middle. Cant see it happening though.....
superjohnmcginlay Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 thats a rare picture of Cahill not blowing a ball

frank_spencer Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I think im in a bitta twubble! I didn't do it!
tarian1979 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 far more calls of: drop robinson play 4 5 1 away from home (could see 4 4 2 away from home was wrong last season when we got lowest points total in league) i see nowadays penny finally dropping with a lot of you i see.
