Weather you have kids or not, you should know what Respect means.

Eh? Yes, I do know what respect is, I just am not aware how children behave these days. My meaning was clearly many of those who do & their offspring don't.

I Miss understood, sorry.

I meant that you know what respect is, and you dont have kids, so people with kids should know what it is, and lead by eample for their kids.

Statement from the league following this evenings meeting with the LFA.

Dear Members

The entire committee of the Bolton, Bury and District Football League are pleased to announce that after a fruitful meeting with the Lancashire FA, they have agreed to rescind their intention to resign, in order to grow all forms of the game, increase participation, and enhance the health and wellbeing of the youth of this area.

Between them the committee of the BBDFL have over 100 years experience in grassroots football, and collectively they would like to express that this week, culminating in this decision, has been one of the toughest they have ever had in the game.

The BBDFL committee, though completely refute the findings made by the FA appeals panel, in that the Special General Meeting was unconstitutional, and in fact believe that the only unconstitutional element of this whole process was the FA appeals panel, for the following reasons:

A. ? ?The panel did not control the meeting and instead allowed Moses Gate and their representatives to dictate how the appeal would be run, what evidence would be submitted and what evidence would be excluded.

B. ? ?The FA appeals panel members made reference to the fact that Moses Gate should have been dealt with under rule 6, as members would have been able to vote them in at the AGM. Rule 6 (IV) is in fact a rule allowing the voting in of ?new clubs? into a league and is not a reference to existing clubs. This showed a distinct lack of understanding by the FA representatives in relation to FA standard code of rules.

C. ? ?The FA appeals panel outlined that it was unconstitutional for the league committee to deal with matters pertaining to overage players and submission of false identity documents, as these matters MUST be referred to the FA. As such it was unconstitutional for the league to use this evidence in their submission to the Special General Meeting when they sought expulsion of Moses Gate. This again showed a distinct lack of understanding by the FA representatives in relation to the FA standard code of rules which clearly states that player irregularities is a matter for the committee, and in particular rule 8 (H) which states ?The management committee shall have the power to accept the registration of any player? and ?The management committee shall have the power to refuse, cancel or suspend the registration of any player who has been charged and found guilty of registration irregularities?

D. ? ? The FA appeals panel made reference to the fact that only to allow 15 minutes for a submission to be made by both parties at the Special General Meeting was inappropriate stating ??they were considering the most important factor of all, being that of the children that would be affected by the decision on the night?. This statement clearly showed a lack of understanding or compassion for the 7000 other young people in our league the committee was trying to protect, or by taking this action the committee was displaying full support to the FA Charter Standard and RESPECT campaigns.

E. ? ?The FA stated that to read a 9 point statement out on the night was unfair as Moses Gate would not have had sufficient time to respond to the 9 points outlined in their 15 minutes, even though they were fully aware of the allegations prior to the Special General Meeting, and the fact that both parties were limited to a maximum of 15 minutes to make a submission and finally during the FA appeal panel process representatives of Moses Gate were allowed to submit vast amounts of evidence, even though this was not part of the appeal process.

The FA Appeals Panel judgement states that the decision to reinstate Moses Gate is final and binding on all parties and no further disciplinary action can be taken on this matter.

The Committee of the BBDFL would like to express in the strongest possible terms their disappointment with the FA over this matter and seek an urgent investigation into the handling of this case in order that no other league or grassroots volunteers are subject to the same issues.

We would also like to ask the FA what do they expect leagues, clubs and organisations to do in relation to the promotion of Charter Standard, Kick it Out and Respect in light of this ruling?

The FA spends vast amounts of money year on year, on advertising campaigns, website promotions, pitch side barriers, consultations and road-shows promoting such things as RESPECT, Charter Standard and Anti Racism.

Unfortunately week in and week out, in the semi and professional game we see referees and other officials, harassed, verbally abused on the pitch or even undermined at a post match press conference.

We see players on vast sums of money apparently refusing to play, and hear of allegations of racism swept aside. We see players plying their trade whilst objects are thrown at them from the stands, or a tirade of verbal abuse, or otherwise abhorrent comments are picked up on the many cameras, as a throw or corner is attempted to be taken.

On each of these occasions the silence from the FA is deafening.

Now firsthand the National FA Charter Standard League of the Year 2010, who has pushed the boundaries of participation, fair play and decency for many years, seeks support from the FA to deal with the club with the worst discipline record in its history and a club in which the member clubs voted to remove from the league.

Again though the FA action is deafening.

The game still has a rotten core, but we strongly believe that despite the lack of support from the governing body, the many coaches, teams, clubs and leagues such as ours have driven up standards and started to clean the core of the game.

It is now time for the FA to stop being weak, start supporting the great work of the County FA`s, start taking positive action to support the very campaigns they advocate and instead of following, start to lead the professional and grassroots games into the next century.

In relation to Moses Gate, we would like to outline our disappointment in the lack of any type of apology for their actions, or even an offer of an olive branch for reconciliation. We though as per the FA directive, under some duress, will allow Moses Gate back in the BBDFL and will deal with them with the same level of professionalism as our other members, in keeping with the ethos of the Bolton, Bury and District Football League.

The timescale for this is yet to be decided, as the committee have arranged a meeting with Mark Ives the FA Discipline Manager for Tuesday 25th October 2011, when a number of questions posed by the committee will be answered

Finally the huge support that has been afforded to the committee over the last week has given the members the boost that they desperately needed and we now feel confident that we can now move forward.

Lessons will be learnt from this, but in keeping with our traditions we ask all our members to remember it is the development of the player and the game which must be our priority, above anything else, and now let us continue to make the BBDFL the envy of every other league and County in the Country

Their statement completely loses the plot when it goes into a rant about the state of football, whoever wrote that is clearly an utter mentalist. It detracts ftom the actual issues in hand. I can see a few lads turning out for a Moses Gate fixture if it's a cert to kick off.

I agree, no need to go off on a rant about football in general, the statement should have stayed within this dispute. That said, you can tell he is seriously pissed off with the FA and lets be honest who wouldn't be? I have been told that the LFA have been fully supportive of the league but I don't that carried much weight by the sounds of it.

maybe somebody can help me, here

first thought was 'get to fcuk'

then i moved on to....'hmm, lets see the bit where they apologise'

it might be there, but i'm struggling

Moses Gate have requested we circulate the following statement to members:

We have not felt it fitting to release a statement without there being a secure committee in place to openly receive the same. As a result of a meeting between the Committee and Lancashire FA on the 20th October 2011, we now wish to state as follows:

There is no doubt that the past week has been stressful for all involved and we would firstly like to take this opportunity to thank those who have shown their support, not just for the Club but also for the League.

We wish to make clear that the decision to appeal against the SGM was not taken lightly and was taken in full consultation with the parents of the children involved as well as a number of supporters of the Club.

Following the FA decision on the 14th October 2011, we have been made acutely aware of both the positive and the negative views of the club and its officials. However, we trust that the League, Committee and fellow Member Clubs will make extended efforts in quelling the negative views and making clear, the parties? intentions in moving forward, in line with the FA decision.

We acknowledge that there is yet a lot of work to be done by all parties involved but hope that with the aid of mediation, we will quickly be able to reach an amicable settlement to allow both the Club and the Committee to move forward and concentrate on securing a bright future for the Club and its children within the Bolton, Bury and District Junior Football League.

We look forward to working alongside the Committee and fellow Member Clubs in aiding the children of the League in securing their stability, security and growth. There is no doubt that we have all seen the change that being a part of the League has on the children of the League. We will have all seen overactive children change as they learn about discipline and channelling their energies and have seen first-hand, just how they thrive in such an environment. Most importantly, we want to make clear to all children that despite who you are, what you are, what school you go to?.out there on the pitch, it makes no difference as we are all in it together.

We accept that there are changes to be made in respect of the way in which both the Club and the Committee deal with one another and trust that any changes that are made are done so with the wellbeing of the children being held in the highest regard. Each of the parties involved has a responsibility to ensure that those that they are responsible for are treated equally and fairly and we urge all involved to keep this to the forefront of our minds when dealing with conflicts and issues between the parties.

It is safe to say that this demanding process has made us all aware of how we should now be able to avoid, to the best of our abilities, any such conflict in the future and in light of this, we assure you that we are open to and willing to take on board, constructive feedback from the relevant authorities, including the League, in order to achieve the same.

We now look forward to a progressive and fruitful future within the League and thank you for your co-operation in advance, through these difficult times.

Bollocks written, no doubt, by the solicitor who took on the case on behalf of the club.

It almost makes both club and committee equally to blame for the past!

The use of the word 'quelling' in relation to the negative views. I think they need to look up the definition. No wonder their kids are aggressive little fuckers.

They forgot the bit about.

We made a simple mistake of forgetting to count the candles on Iqubal's last birthday cake. Besides which, the rules were in English, not our native tongue. How were we supposed to know that a 15 year old couldn't play football with his 12 cousins just because they are only 10 years old?

All they need is a Michael Jackson, We are the World, video in the background when they read it out and it'll be perfect.

dunno about hazzy but our lot don't have a tackle in them

its the old harwood foxtrot

when we travel to rough arse places like atherton we get kicked off the pitch

No, we're one of the rough arse teams normally. Fair, but not shy of getting stuck in. My lad made me laugh the other week watching England v Scotland in the rugby world cup on tv. One of the jocks started to run with the ball, & my lad saw one of the England boys coming towards him & without changing his expression he just said 'snap him' & carried on eating his mouthful of toast.

Wouldn't happen in the North Bury JFL.

The old farts on the committee would have fined Moses Gate ?10 and be done with it. Fines, Fines, Fines - thats their answer to everything
