gonzo Posted March 20, 2018 Author Posted March 20, 2018 We've had two weeks of really bad weather. It's winter. Clearly you don't remember 1963. I don't remember 1947 or 1940. My job sheets and frequency plans say different. Go through the amount of weather warnings issued compared to other recent years. 2 weeks my arse. Easy to say when your inside. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I'm sure malc will have been digging folk out ofor drifts whilst running. There's no doubt winters are wetter and arguably windier. Maybe not as cold; but give me cold crisp days over milder duller damp shitty days any time. Quote
Winchester White Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Definitely seems to have been windier but not sure it has been that cold apart from the odd snap. We get shit weather in NW England no matter what the season. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Today was wonderful. Logs chopped, dogs walked and paths not too muddy. 19 years ago today it was cold wet and miserable. Quote
Casino Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Easter being early is messing folk up One year, it snowed at derby lancs in may Quote

Traf Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Easter being early is messing folk up One year, it snowed at derby lancs in may Easter's not early. It has been around this time for much of the last 10yrs IIRC. Junior's birthday is 29th March and she's generally off school for Easter at the time. Quote
Casino Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 (edited) There's only been 4 earlier in 20 years Granted, I did think it was usually quite a bit later Edited March 20, 2018 by Casino Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Tesco in the village had easter eggs in in January. No wonder its early; the shells will have turned white. Quote
MalcolmW Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 There's only been 4 earlier in 20 years Granted, I did think it was usually quite a bit later Easter Sunday will 1st April again in 2029 and 2040. It will be in March in 2024 (31st), 2027 (28th), 2032 (28th) and 2035 (25th). [unless the Fixed Easter Act passed in 1928 is implemented, in which case Easter will be the Sunday in 9th - 15th April.] Quote
Traf Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 There's only been 4 earlier in 20 years Granted, I did think it was usually quite a bit later Only 4? Have they all been recent? Quote
Traf Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Before the end of the first week of April seems to have been the case in half of the last dozen, I think. Quote

MalcolmW Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Only 4? Have they all been recent? 2002, 2005, 2008, 2013 and 2016. In 2038 Easter will be 25th April. In 1818 it was 22nd March. Quote
