To compete at top level, you need to have a good horse. Prices for such horses cost tens of thousands, hence it's usually the 'posher' folk with the money to spend at events like this. There's plenty of horse riders from 'normal class' families who compete at events across Lancashire every weekend, it's just there horses are not able to make the step up to the national level. The individual qualifying rounds are Tuesday morning - final due at 9pm on Thursday, but I wouldn't be surprised if it starts later if it's wet, as the scheduling is not satisfactory imo. Quote
