Last time London hosted it we won 4 golds.

4 to go....

Yes, but only 3 were in proper events - 2 in rowing and 1 in sailing (or it mighht be the other way around) - they mentioned it on the wireless this morning. The other one was for painting/drawing.

Anyway, I reckon we should get a few golds once the bicyclists start going. If we don't win loads, then I'm not overly fussed, I'm just enjoying watching it

And that is the true spirit of the Olympics.

Just enjoy it for goodness sake, you miserable gets!

Do you want to look like Americans whooping and a holaing or taking kids from their parents at 10 like some countries do?

Stayed up till 1am watching Volleyball, GB women won first ever set and match at Olympics - it was an exciting watch really, only intended to put it on for a minute or two and that was at 11pm!

Was there just a small puff of smoke coming out of the end of it by the time the game finished?

I do like a good watch! Not really many hotties in our side though, which is good because the reception on the telly in my bedroom is fucking rubbish

Should've been gold, meh, moan, we're shite etc.........

To be fair, the GB canoeist wasn't spectacular. Maybe John Darwin could have done better.

Freya Murray, the last minute replacement for Paula Radcliffe in Sunday's Marathon was fourth woman (42nd overall) running 16:31 in the Horwich Carnival 5k road race in June 2008.

Sadly that is your sillier side. I would have said that 5th (10k) and 7th (5k) in the Delhi Commonwealth Games meant she has continued steady improvement (while maintaining a full time professional job as a structural engineer) towards true world class.

Showjumping is so dull, watching Murray, wonder if our resident Australian will support him considering he's representing GBR.

Yeah but if she cant be half of Horwich at the start of her career then she can never be classed as one of the greats.

All sportsmen and women are shit unless they win every competition they ever enter. FACT!

Actually she beat 75% of the men in that race, and 90% of the women. And it was at least her tenth season of competion, so hardly the start.

I posted the original info because I think some of the runners on here may have been in that race and might be interested.

And then there are the Horwichers...

In your opinion. Plenty like it, hence the packed stands.

What's the highest you've jumped off a height into water, mine was in Zante and it were great, but I'd be poor at this diving stuff, probably not jump out far enough and smash my head in, I fancy a swim watching this though, water looks great.

Yes of course it's just my opinion, seems to be a fave for the Royal family, does seem like a posh sport.

Its tongue in cheek Malc, half of wanderersways believe my last statement given the abuse some of the olympians / Amir Khan / BWFC squad have got over the last couple of weeks.
