finbwfc Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Scotts is expensive - fact. The quality of beer (ale / Guinness) is poor....but then where else can you get a drink? There was quite a few German fans at the match tonight. A couple were taking photos of the 'No Alcohol Past This Point' signs as you take your seat. They were laughing and, after attending a few games in Germany, I understand why. I was at a Hertha Berlin match last year and after the game, people hung arounf the stadium till 9 or 10 drinking around small bars that are littered around the ground. A brilliant atmosphere. We have Scotts....horrible atmosphere, expensive beer but the only bar around so captive audience.... Quote
marple whites Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Just got a beer and a burger for me, and a coke a burger for the mrs, you only get half a coke. What's that all about? Price of beer in Scotts has stopped me drinking at home games, probably do 2 or 3 this season where I drink. I can't watch us without a drink !!My name is marple, I am an alcoholic.............. gonzo Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 When people comment on the 'horrible' atmosphere in Scotts..... Are you expecting it to be like the Rock pub on the film I.D? Or would you settle for a happy duck-esque renditon of ten german bombers with folk stood on the bar top? Its a fucking boozer 2 minutes walk from the ground, you can park for a fiver, get served with ease, theres tellys everywhere, and even the odd bit of clunge kicking about. Pints £3.15? too dear yes,but its only 55p dearer than my local... Jesus, that £1.65 on top of my matchday expense every week might just swing it for me,im gonna get 24 cans for a tenner and sit in the bus shelter next week. Quote
DazBob Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 When people comment on the 'horrible' atmosphere in Scotts..... I've heard it's full of druggie thugs if that helps? Quote

Carlos Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 €1.20 your Sagres in Biarro Alto last night. Quote
Guest Frandsen08 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 you get paid £3.10 for drinking john smiths. You're right that is an outrage, £10 should be about right. Quote
Sweep Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I must be honest, I very rarely if ever notice how much ale costs. I tend to order and then chuck over a fiver or a tenner, I get a bit of shrapnel back and then just chuck it in my pocket. The only time recently i've beenmiffed is when I ordered a pint in the "pub" on the platform at Kings Cross and I handed over a fiver only to be told I was 10p short.....£5.10 for a pint is pretty extreme, even for that there London Quote
Happy Wanderer Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Moses, how many pints did you buy? Quote

Theres very few places I can get wankered for £20 nowadays but £2.50 for Kronenburg int Saddle has a fucking good go at it. Quote

About 25 blokes walked into a pub and sat down. Someone went to the bar, found that beer was 50p a pint, and everyone walked out. We went to the next pub and paid a little less, but it was a culture shock as local prices were 35p - 40p, iirc. Quote
marple whites Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 £4 a pint in devere !! Hotel pre match,Scotts after. Job done. Quote
