captainmed Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Small signs of progress since OC left. Unbeaten and look a little more solid. Brave to drop SKD our captain. Poor that we once again concede 2 and give the lead away twice. Need to win our next 2 home games against weaker opposition He, like us is unsure of our best team. Play offs would be quite an achievement for DF. Quote
superkev Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 It seems that we are slowly progressing. Don't think missing out on promotion this year would be a bad thing. Let Dougie build and launch an onslaught next year. That said no one is running away with the league. It's that tight we could finish something like 15th and only be a couple of points from the playoffs. Quote
bgoefc Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I think he has some tough decisions in the next two transfer markets, for me mavies and either eagles or Petrov need to go as they useless when we lose the ball Chungy might fetch more money though but he is starting to score again and i think is worth hanging onto. He has to get his strikers to buy into the team work ethic and buy a new goalie Quote
Casino Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 i think petrov would be sacrificed but i can't see there being any takers, unless the mls want him i dunno what more you could want from mark davies Quote
captainmed Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Mavies is the one quality young player we have He's now adding a goal or two as well. We need the 5 to allow him to advance and it's working. Sell him in Jan and it's a disaster. Bids will come for certain. Quote
superkev Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 We need a poacher who can grab a goal out of nothing. And more pace. Someone who is lightening quick. That was the one thing I noticed from the Leicester game. Pace to burn in forward areas. Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 DF knows what he is doing, had a couple of games to weigh us up and set them up well today, spearing and andrews sitting, let mavies get more involved in and around the forwards. Only a couple of little gripes, would just have preferred Petrov on his normal side and Eagles on right and it took too long for him to take Ngog off, he did nowt after the hour and SKD on a bit sooner and we might have held the ball up better. DF will (hopefully) be well pissed off with the two goals conceded, switched off straight after we scored and crap marking from a dead ball for their second. Otherwise we'd defended well enough in open play. Overall, decent performance and that team, in that shape, will get us steadily up the league Quote
Casino Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 sordell wants out of our bench that should be easier than getting walcott Quote
HomerJay Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 (edited) I've seen anything of today but I'd like to know how solid Andrews and spearing we're, presuming mavies was behind ngog On paper, today's lineup looked to have good balance Edited November 10, 2012 by HomerJay Quote
Casino Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 he was goal one, warnock should've done better for me second, set piece, freedman will be fuming Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Andrews and Spearing were all right, don't rate Andrews but about the best he's played for us today, got plenty of tackles and headers in and didn't give it away quite as much as usual. Spearing was solid, kept passing to our men Quote
HomerJay Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 So we're still on individual mistakes and lack of organisation at the back But a least we seem to have a bit of fight and bottle since OC left Hopefully just a matter of time before it all starts to come together. Shame we don't really have time Quote

superkev Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Theo Walcott wants out of arsenal I'm sure some would be thinking why aren't we in for him. Quote

He has to get his strikers to buy into the team work ethic and buy a new goalie Apart from the goal I thought Chungy was poor when he came on today and has not been the same since the broken leg. Mavies and Eagles are our only players that can open up a defence so I would not wan to see any of them leave Thought Andrews was a little better today and we need to stick with this back 4 for a while Quote
Ratwhite Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 #shitfan. Didn't go yesterday. I'd have took a draw (like most) beforehand. DF's boys undefeated in three. All good runs have to start somewhere and DO include slices of luck. (cue corny sounding per-match music) This is only the beginning. Barnsley a wom next. Two wins and two draws from his first four games. Starts to look a little ominous for sides above us. We'll be bothering the top six by Xmas. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Played ok in spells and the clementines didn't really have many clear chances. Chungy was poor despite his goal, hope it gives him some confidence though. Bogdan looked safe again which is promising. Piss poor defending for both goals though. Played 5 sides now on the bounce who will be top end by May and we've taken as many points off them as they have from us, fairly optimistic we'll soon be upwardly mobile Quote

Ani Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 We are 7 points of the play offs with 28 games to play. We are not looking at Lazarus like recovery here. Win get 10 points from a run of 4 games and we are in the mix. Have seen nothing in the league that makes me think anyone is going to run away with it. Quote
enzo gambaro Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Aye. 90 points to play for (including the other two games). It's just been pre-season so far, really. Quote
miamiwhite Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 i've said it from day 1 we will piss this league, even with the dodgy start we had. i'm quite impressed with dougie's way of thinking and am becoming more confident with each game. we'll be in the prem next year without doubt, getting drubbed every week, then we can really moan again Quote
