barrycowdrill Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 the lads holding it looked like decent match lads to me and not kids What I wont criticise them for though is showing some passion for the welfare of the club - I'd rather people turn out and IMO have a misguided banner rather than the fucking "fans" who disappear every single time the going gets a bit tough absolute disgrace - instant gratification or nothing - bollox to them bang fucking on Quote
barrycowdrill Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 nobody with maturity would do what they did thats a pretty immature way of looking at it... Quote
Carlos Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 In short, it makes you look like this, something other football fans are laughing at some 20 years later Quote
bwfc2003 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 The recent interview he gave on TalkSport was great, he came across as a real gent that loves his job and club, he sounded ambitious, and did not make himself sound like a tit. He did also NOT make it sound like he is doing you a favour. Well said - what we must also remember that unlike most football club chairmen he is a fan of our club Quote
barrycowdrill Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 just to play devils advocate here, how do people suggest the fans publicise their displeasure? particulalry when it is directed at people who live in such an insular world as football... legitimate honest answers... Quote
Sweep Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 how do people suggest the fans publicise their displeasure? legitimate honest answers... By marching on The Reebok stadium with pitchforks and burning torches, either that or a mass seagulling of Gartside at the next home game Quote
Traf Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 If you wanted to let the players know how you felt, do it at the end of a game. If your issues are with management and upwards, then it would have to be email or letter. There should be no protests or distractions during a game. Quote

There should be no protests or distractions during a game. fair point, but in this instance it was when the players were coming out. not during the game at all. theres an argument to say its counter productive to the team for that game. particularly if it is vocal and/or focused on players. but, if done at the end of a game that will also be naturally carried through to the next one. still the same result Quote
Pablo Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 You should take your Ultras out of the Curva for the first 15 mins. Quote

Big E Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 thats a pretty immature way of looking at it... Barry to you read the constAnt shit posted slating Gartside and co though? It is nothing more than irrational hatred which no matter what won't change. They never give real reasons just post abuse. They refuse to accept he helped make the club a success. They only say he has ruined us. It's madness. Yes he has made bad decisions but his good work is always classed as luck but these people Quote

They only say he has ruined us. It's madness. Yes he has made bad decisions but his good work is always classed as luck but these people granted there is an element of people jumping on this bandwagon whose thoughts and feelings are irrational. but, regarding one of the said members of this incident i am led to believe he has expressed his views quite openly for some time. and been quite open and honest about what gartside has done well and not so well. his thoughts then based on his assessment have led him to be involved in this particular banner. everyone will have a different reason for doing what they do, but you cant tar all those people with the same opinion with the same brush without knowing what those reasons are. But why does anybody need to "publicise" their displeasure....is it not just a part of today's attention seeking, Jeremy Kyle., type of mentality ? ( like bursting into tears in front of a camera after a bad result ) . If I reached the point that i couldn't support the club because iI hated the chairman, I would just stay away. Put another way, I don't rate Ream at all , which puts me in a very small minority, but i wouldn't dream of turning up at a game with a " Reem is shit " bedsheet, because it would be no substitute for a reasoned argument, would aggravate the majority of Bolton fans & cause divisions, be utterly pointless & above all, would make me look a bit of a tosser. As long as he wears a Bolton shirt & puts in the effort ( he does ), at the match I put my doubts to one side & support him. Quote

If I reached the point that i couldn't support the club because iI hated the chairman, I would just stay away. its the world that we live in. people have a problem with their insurer you ring them, try and get it resolved, same with sky same with anything. if it isnt resolved to your satisfaction or acknowledged at all you take it to trading standards/ombudsman/watch dog. whatever avenue which will get the issue exposure and a resolution. now these guys cant just pick up the phone and discuss it with gartside. so they go straight to the exposure. unfortunately the only avenue for exposure is at a game Quote
Traf Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 BC, Whilst you make your usual eloquent case (makes a change round here! ), we've not heard any real reasons for the upsurge is anti-Gartside feeling. Are you aware of the grievances? Quote
Sweep Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 unfortunately the only avenue for exposure is at a game What about a strongly worded letter to The Buff? In all seriousness though, you are correct, the game is the only place that people can really show their displeasure. I believe that doing it before or during the match can be counter-productive though. Maybe after the game is the time to do things, but at least make it look like you know why you are protesting and you haven't just turned up because it looks like something to do. I'm sure some of those involved with the banner know what they are talking about, sadly their "cause" get's high jacked by cretins on twitter who just seem to get off sending ridiculous tweets like "If you don't sign Rhodes then you shud resign you dick" and "Gart$ide Out U ruin our club" - that sort of shit just undermines any true and salient point that is trying to be got across Quote
DazBob Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 but i wouldn't dream of turning up at a game with a " Reem is shit " bedsheet, Quite right too. To show your displeasure at the wages he earns despite what you think are inept performances, it should read "R££M is shit. Quote
