Bullshit, 2 gobshites, probably posters on here said to take it down and they were told to fuck off, CS, GM and JS challenged any fucker who had a problem and they shit out, it was the stewards who took it off them and gave it back at full time

Is that what you saw, or what you got told?

So these protesters 'shit out' when the Stewards got involved?

The steards asked politely to remove to which they politely responded, no aggressive protest so did as asked by someone in authority and got on with watching the match as opposed to spending the night in the cells

Operative word being politely

Surely if you are hard as nails you'd be more bothered about having it with Blackpool? When I was that age we had a top mob, MCB were never bothered about taking banners to the game.

Fair do's!

Knowing one of the "banner" lads I can confirm he definitely won't be doing GCSEs and wouldn't have took down the banner after being told by other fans , but if that's "what allegedly happened" I will stand corrected

The irony of this campaign is that it makes PG's position more secure - not less.

ED chose to be a reclusive owner, willing to pay well for his nominee to face the flak.

The polar opposite of Wigan, where the owner/chairman can hardly be separated from the media, and even renamed the stadium from the company which he previously owned to his own initials.

Yeah but if you missed the boat surely this makes up for it

ive been registered on this site for a while and very rarely post. read an awful lot and dont feel the need to give my opinion on incidents no matter how accurate/inaccurate i feel they have been relayed.

but those 2 accounts of what happened are absolute garbage.

they unfurled the banner as the teams came out, right at the front of the stand. it was up for a minute or 2. numerous people taking photos etc. that was right in front of me.

the lads then took up seats 2 rows behind me, unfurled it again. 1 or 2 people told them to "get it down"  they got told to fuck off! didnt say another word

as anewman has stated the stewards then asked them politiely to take it down. the lads did so and then got it back at the end of the game.

whether you agree with what they did or not, they paid there money, went to the game so therefore have the right to express whatever they want. which is more than can be said for the vast majority of people on here!!

so rather than post inaccurate rubbish and over inflate your role to gain kudos on a messageboard, why not post the truth or say nothing. as you make yourself look rather stupid

This isn't always true, just because somebody pays to get into a ground it doesn't give them the right to "express whatever they want"  -  in this instance though if they put the banner up and then removed it when asked, I don't see anything wrong with that. I wonder what'll happen if they unfurl it at a home game and our sadly lacking in people skills stewards wade in to remove it

So, booing your own players mid-match is also acceptable by your definition.

Presumably these were friends of yours and you support them?

If so, please enlighten us as to how him leaving would benefit us.

Thanks

up to a point i CWP I agree. but they have freedom of speech. there isnt a ban in football grounds currently on being negative.

you, me or anyone else personlly may not agree with what theyre doing but again thats their right.

they go to a game, slag people off, then get slagged off by people for doing so who didnt even go to the game....

traff - that isnt the point is it?  i havent mentioned booing. there was no booing. they unfurled a banner

I've got no problem with anyone expressing an opinion, no matter how ill-conceived. But call me a grumpy old cunt, I just don't give a fuck what someone who still lives with their mum thinks.

I've yet to see a single argument about what happens after Garty goes. This isn't the X Factor. You need a cohesive argument, getting angry about it, or acting hard, isn't particularly persuasive.

where did i say that??

and for the record i know of one. never seen the other lads before in my life.

and my point wasnt whether i agree or not. it was tying up the inaccuracies that other people have posted.

And another thing, IF you feel that strongly about it, and you are being ripped to pieces on here (possible elsewhere, I don't know), surely it's not unreasonable to come on here and to defend your stance?

Barry - I know where you're coming from, but paying entry money doesn't give you a free pass to say "anything" now, does it?

within reason of course.

but, whilst there isnt a ban on such behaviour, they can do it. whether people agree or not

Okay, no offence intended.  It was just an assumption.

The bit about how Gartside leaving us would benefit us is a genuine question to anybody who supports this 'protest'.  I'm not taking the piss, I'd just like to know what they think his replacement could do better than Gartside currently does and how that would benefit the club going forward.

why should they do that? if they dont want to post on here they wont.

i will reiterate again, i am not defending them. my view is irrelevant. im sure they would be more than happy to have a discussion about it at the next home game for example with anyone that wants to listen to their reasons?...

To me it just looks like they are showing they are unhappy. Nothing wrong with what they did, but others saying how they "Should" feel, is wrong.

Same with all type's of protests. Nobody EVER writes a banner with alternatives to current regimes, as its not the fans job to do that.

All you can do is let 'them' know if you are happy of not.
