i see not so super kevin is alongside dearden doing the commentary tonight

1 that's gonna be incisive

2 i can see him sat there all smug with a pathetic grin on his face

What's with the digs at SKD, Casino? Given the way he was treated by not so super Doog, I think he's handled himself with great dignity. He may not have gone out on a high but he'll always be a legend in most fans' eyes - and was a key part of our glory years.

suppose it all depends on whether you think the poor little lamb was treated badly

Wouldnt be surprised if we win this,

I would.  A lot.

It'd be an extremely nice surprise though.

I'd much rather we win regardless of whether it keeps Freedman in a job or not.  We need the points.

If we were to get bummed tonight and Freedman gets potted then we're closer to relegation and there's no guarantee his replacement will be able to turn it around (all hypothetical of course).

Him not getting another contract wasn't the issue, the manner in which it was handled by this clown was. Together with his stubborness in not using him in the run in - preferring instead to throw a young kid in against Blackpool and a full back who was totally out of his depth at Leicester...both of which cost us points which would have got us in the play-offs. But we the fans don't understand, not being the football geniuses that Douglas is.

douglas wasn't the one who said and i'm not looking it up but it was something like

'i can't do my best for the club knowing i'm not wanted'

linking not playing kevin davies to our full back problems at leicester is some stretch

Care to elaborate on exactly the 'manner in which it was handled' by Freedman?  I can't see what he did wrong.    The only reason it became unsavoury was his wife blabbing on Twitter and him choosing to do an interview on Talksport that was proven to be full of lies and contradictions.

Are you suggesting Davies should've played on the wing against Blackpool or full back against Leicester?  Let's face it, Davies was a spent force last season.  He was dire.  We were a better team without him.  Too many folk got caught up in the emotion of it all and were harking on about how great he'd been in the past.  No-one disputed how good he HAD been for us ... but that was exactly it, it was all based on past tense.  Here we had a player who couldn't even beat Matthew Upson in the air any more.

I'm not suggesting he should have played full back. I am saying Dougie's team selection week in week out is questionable at best though. His refusal to even throw him on against Blackpool when we needed one goal was pig headed.

I'm not talking about his wife's twitter rants. The man himself has never bad mouthed the club.

He opted to give an interview with a national radio station knowing full well our club's name would be dragged through the mud.  He also knew, by telling lies, the general public would side with him and think us despicable for treating a 'legend' in such a shoddy way.

THAT is what soured the end of his career with us.

As for baffling team selections, no argument from me here on that as it's still something Freedman does ... but the selection of an aged, out of form striker would only have been yet another of them.

I've not got a bad word to say about SKD, but he doesn't present a goal threat.

This season, although playing a division lower and as a striker, his goal scoring record is worse than Alex Baptiste.

What about talking to other clubs when he was under contract to us? even thought it was a complete and utter shock to him when told he wouldn't be getting a contract extension.

Will always be glad of what he achieved with us, but he stayed with us 18 months too long.

Anyroad, he's created far too many radio sideshows in the last 12 months, let's not let tonight be another.

Come on you fucking white men.

pretty sure his experience and all that is very much a contributing factor to their decent season though, like he was for many of ours, without scoring on a regular basis

not got a bad word either, and I'm sure he's as dissappointed as the rest of us as to how it's all gone to shit of late

PS. If we lose at least we are all safe in the knowledge that the chimp will surely be potted tomorrow.

Surely, surely.

Mind, I've been saying that for a few months now.
