Official Rugby League Thread

I'm assuming there isn't one already? Had a quick look and could find nowt. Makes sense to have an official thread since there seem to be plenty of egg chasing fans on here

Anyhow, this has just been announced:

Will be a fucking brilliant day out, that! Leigh had better make it there now (although if we keep sticking 52 past everyone we shouldn't have much trouble)

Will they be known as the lepers and wear a bell round their necks and shout unclean as they run the ball in

A fucking laughing stock, worst kit Leigh will ever wear.

In one. As of yesterday afternoon that was me done after 30 years of being a supporter. I’ve slept on it and not much has changed. And probably involves me handing in my notice so if any recruiters are out there…

Halifax Panthers is another rebrand.

They’ve had that for a couple of years now but it wasn’t a name change based on the owner’s favourite fucking animal.

Yeah. Neither him nor the club pay my wages and yet essentially that’s who I work for

What happens to the centurions pub @Leyther_Matt

It's gone upmarket and is now going to be called the "Leopards Lounge"

What's the general feeling with leigh fans? I can't believe it I thought it was a joke, Featherstones piss take on twitter was as credible.

I’m probably at the more extreme end in that, as it stands at least, I’m done.

Majority are very unhappy but will grudgingly put up with it rather than jacking in (and eventually I’ll probably calm down enough to end up in that bracket, I suppose)

Seen very few who are happy with it other than a minority of arse lickers

Patience will probably wear thin very quickly if there’s a poor start to the season though

Poor mistakes in their own half at the most important time of the game.

They’d of got smashed by the Aussies anyhow, but frustrating that such a basic error resulted in not getting to the final.

Well done to Samoa, but that's a truly abject loss really

2 errors within about 90 seconds of each other. Dropped the ball and forward pass, both times giving Samoa possession in the England half of the field when only a drop goal is needed to win a semi final.

Best team won....

England bottled it....

Aussies will put 50 on next Saturday...

They lost their heads. It's as simple as that. And in truth they've failed at the first real hurdle.

It's real body blow for the sport in this country but wegot what we deserved.

Have to say that the Aus/NZ semi was one of the best sporting events I’ve ever watched

Some harsh comments there.

Missed chances early doors and a couple of big errors. Samoa also justified the pre tournament comments about how good they are.

Certainly didn't bottle it though, and remarkable spirit to fight back at the death.

I suppose it depends on the definition of bottling it but they definitely lost their composure and discipline after levelling the scores late on.

I can't think of any other explanation for England's play during the golden point period.

From beating the same team a few weeks ago 60-6 to losing today is bottling it.....

England were lucky to get a draw at 80 minutes...

Absolutely gutted just following it via WhatsApp while at Cambridge. Fuck knows how I’d have felt if I’d actually witnessed it.
