Not seen anything there to convince me otherwise. It's like we don't know what we are trying to be. We sit deep and play the so called pressing game then out of nowhere a defender belts the ball 80 yards to a winger that doesn't win the header. There totally nothing going forward that gets bums of seats. Nothing at all. The style of play is depressing. If it gets results then crack on. If it doesn't,the hounders will be out in force quick sharp this time round. Wilkinson looks alreet mind. Quote

Were they real Vitesse fans or a bunch of cockneys having a laugh? With a chorus of 'we are the one and only Arnhem' they came across as frauds. Quote

Thought McNaughton was our best player too, even got back to stop a goal whilst injured, can't fault him for attitude and effort. We never looked like scoring that is sad truth. Over thinking everything is going to be Dougie's epitaph if he carries on. The two subs perked is up a bit but signs are not good Quote
kent_white Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I'd not exactly call us raring to go for the new season. We looked organised and fairly decent at the back. Two full backs did well. We just lack any sort of urgency going forward. Feeney did ok second half. We had our first shot on target on 80 minutes IIRC? Pretty dire fayre if truth be told. Let's hope it was just a case of it being a lacklustre friendly and nobody wanting to get injured. Vitesse looked a decent side. Quote

Wilkinson looked decent aswell, not much service to the forwards mind. Really would prefer to see two up top at home and we need mark Davies in this team. Quote

Astley White Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Looked quite solid at the back. Undone by a decent free kick and they aren't a bad side but felt we dealt alright with their attacks. The match was all a bit lacklustre though but it was a friendly. McNaughton, Ream and Feeney most impressive. Our lack of attacking threat glaringly obvious but hopefully Freedman will bring someone else in asap. People sat near me already wrote off the season...WTF. worthy10 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Went to Rochdale & today: I despair at the thought of playing Beckford up front on his own. It is a role which very few can pull off effectively. I doubt very much that he wants that job. Lonargan looked really dodgy today. Back four seem steady. Lack of quality,creativity and cutting edge. Pratley is awful at all aspects of the game apart from running. Then again he is trying to do a job that DF asks. Goal threat required or I would suggest we will be bottom half. Quote
