I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

The English media at their worst. A complete non story. I'm starting to buy into the lad getting a raw deal.

There are a million ways he could have remembered his father before getting a tattoo of an assault rifle on his leg.

Its the first time I’ve heard someone get a tattoo of the thing that killed their parent.

Unfortunately despite the vast majority of people appreciating it and not suddenly going out and shooting someone.

Through the huge influence footballers have across the entire world. Especially a prominent person for one of the biggest clubs in the world at the moment.

It could somewhere in the world result in a young kid getting a tattoo, then getting a gun and then ending up killing someone. It could happen.

So his rememberance has led to more death(s)z

An urn on your mantlepiece wouldn’t have resulted in that.

A tattoo poem on your back wouldn’t have to resulted in that

Bollocks.

If that kid, somewhere in the world, end up killing someone with a gun then it won't be Raheem Sterling's fault.

My Grandfather was killed during the war but my tattoo of Hitler is always a comforting reminder of Gramps.

I am a big fan of the band Queen and have a tattoo of a homosexual's bottom in tribute to Freddie Mercury.

Jason McAteer (aka Trigger)

And the very same Raheem Sterling.. sub machine gun.

Who (honestly) gives a fuck

most boring discussion ever.

in fact, can we not fuck these word associations off altogether.

i've been guilty of contributing in the past, but can honestly say I never find anybody else's funny and i'm sure vice versa

baa humbug, fuck off everybody.

If Raheem is so influential that his ankle tattoo (hello Sailor!) might inspire the yoof of today to shoot people () then the anti-gun lobby have missed the perfect opportunity to seize the moment to engage someone who could possibly be their highest profile gun crime victim and really drill home a positive message about ending gun violence rather than going into mass hysterics over piece of ink. With the tattoo in general, it's probably ill judgement and more than likely he's made the meaning fit a bit. I think a lot of people get their tattoos for the aesthetics rather than a truer underlying meaning, people with crucifix on the back who haven't stepped in church since their confirmation for example.
