Probably not a great indication of his ability, but I once nutmegged him during a 50v50 dinner time game at Bedford High.

I've praised the club for it many times - getting kids in is definitely the answer...but look around you...there are 10 times as many adults as kids in any given stand bar the north upper...which is hardly bursting at the seams. A senior citizen ticket in the North lower (cheapest stand) is £226 - so a tenner a match. So even with seniors and the small minority of kids tickets there's no way the average is £8.50 when every other fucker is paying £14-£20 depending on whether they're north lower or west upper. And that doesn't include those who turn up on the day and are sometimes forced to pay £35 a ticket.

Someone with access to the source material has been through those figures. Like it or not, they are going to be legit or the taxman would be banging on the door.

I was delighted with signing Sordell his performances for England under 21s were enough to get my hopes up.

 

He's not had a real run of games since he joined us so it's still possible he makes a decent player of himself.

It was definitely a signing that I thought was pointing us in the right direction, young, something to prove, hopeful high resale value.

 

Yes towards the end he brought most of the criticism on himself but it wasn't his fault he was panic bought and under utilised. I remember him looking like he could be something in his brief cameos in the Prem, remember being very frustrated at his lack of game time despite our inability to score goals.

He was young, but just maybe not hungry.

The Sordell signing should have been used as a template of how not to sign players, thorough research into his personality and background with professional profiling should be used and all that info thoroughly studied and considered before any bid is forthcoming, it seemed like Coyle was acting like a wreck less gambler chasing a win with the last throw of the dice.
