Nicky Hunt, local lad who did pretty well for himself. 127 premier league games, was it? A dozen or so U-21 caps?

Nicky Hunt was superb for us in his early days imo, but even then there were the usual suspects having a go.

Nicky Hunt is a better full back than any of our current lot

He played at least 20 games in each of the four season we finished in the top 8 of the Prem, and at least 30 in two of those.

 

He would have played more but for popping his shoulder out every other week. 

 

We had the best of him without doubt, but he'd look like Cafu in this shower of shite we currently have to endure

No idea why his career tailed off at all. Certainly competent enough during our most successful time in the Prem.

 

As for Prince, that man has all the attributes to be a top centre half, except basic knowledge. Let the ball drop far too often. Way too casual and won't amount to anything. Shame.

The risk in signing any of the four foreign defenders Lennon brought in was would they take to English football, especially at Championship level, The answer, unfortunately, is a resounding 'no'. Halfway through the season we're back with the rag bag assortment of a defence he thought was shite back end of last season  

So not selling anyone...

What an astute manager we have in NL he complained that he was left with a very lob sided squad by DF and a poor defence,he brings in 3 full backs and 2 centre backs and in the past 24 hours 2 full backs gone and 1 centre back also gone no wonder we are in a bloody mess on the pitch!

Good if we don't lose any of the few who give us a faint hope of survival by staying, we've cleared a load off the wage bill, will that free up any money for the return of any we have out on loan if they aren't on season-long deals? 

 

A few out there who can't be any worse than what we have and could freshen things up. Wilson back from Posh already.

I don't understand football quite as much as many but it seems to me that if our attack is Gary Madine then other teams can safely commit more to attack. Put Gareth Bale up there and our defence would miraculously improve.

Yes he has but that's only because Clough hardly played. Madines game so predictable can't run past anyone can't our skill any one and is poor finisher, he's not bad at holding it up and not bad in the air, but that doesn't scare defenders in the championship.

Madine can hold the ball up.

 

Clough loses it often.
