Eddie has had some abuse these past few weeks, a lot of it unwarranted by idiots.

  • So a bloke who gave us £150million is asking that his contribution be remembered by naming a room after him. Not a stand or the entire stadium. A room.   He's also asking that instead of getting his

TBH think these wage figures are correct but would imagine most of the players will want out anyway so don't think the wage bill will be anywhere near we imagine.

they might not get out though, not if they want to be on the same money, like Davies could've gone to a promotion chasing team, but they wouldn't pay him what he wanted, so he stayed

So, if these are true Lennon bust his budget on Amos and Madine, explains why Alf was not possible.

Heard from a completely reliable source today that the rumour about spearing not playing due to appearance bonuses in his contract is 100% true.

£3k a game appearance money, plus win bonuses = £3k a game

I'd like to see figure from other clubs.

How does any club survive and compete in this league?

I've heard that a lot of the players signed in the summer were on small basics and appearance money - thus him not being able to play them and them agreeing to move on

Ie Casado, Prince etc

I'd like to see figure from other clubs.

How does any club survive and compete in this league?

either by getting more income.....or paying vastly smaller wages........or simply by spiralling further and further into debt. I'm sure in the next few years there will be a lot more teams in the shit as much as we are, especially those who gamble on going straight back up as we did

Yes I know the answers, but I'd like to see evidence of such.

I'm not having Feeney is on 17K a week. We signed him on a free from millwall, and he wasn't even playing that much for them.

Who did we last sell for £5m

I doubt the money generated in the last 4 years comes to £5m

Exactly the frigging problem. We needed a palacios, a Valencia, a roque Santa Cruz, a David Bentley

I agree with Arrested Developement on Feeney but didnt Bogdan turn down 18k a week? In which the case the figure quoted for Amos could be correct? Possibly influenced by the potential to sell him for a tidy sum later. Sadly given the number of bollocks he has dropped and his outrageous wages doubt we could unload him.

And 3-4 out of those 5 play week-in-week-out and so couldn't have been replaced without negatively impacting the team.

What exactly is the point you're trying to make here?

Since you ask, I'll elaborate.

Heskey and derik have played less than 20 games between them so definitely not the backbone of the team as you infer.

Amos and Pratley should not have been offered those wages. A cheaper goalie would have had to do. Overall, our dealings in the transfer market last Summer was terrible.

I think everybody will agree with that, even with a "limited" budget I'm sure better players than the current lot could have been found. Lennon's scouts want sacking as well as Lennon himself

Sad that we lost Holden and Muamba those 2 would have been worth over 10 million. We've been poorly run but we've also had rotten luck.

none of the fuckers are getting a WIN bones that's for sure

We have scouts??

The article in the sun is absolute bollox - Derik £10k a week my fucking arse. The league are just covering their arse to avoid getting further questioning over how much scrutiny they put on the deal after big question marks over other deals they ok'd - if there isn't enough cash in the deal to see us thru a few seasons in league one then what in fucks name have they spent the last 4 months fretting over in many ways football is dead easy to budget for income or minimum income fairly easily predicted and expenditure an almost certainty - if there are genuine question marks the birch and davies want carting off to the nut house as they obviously gone bonkers having been previously accepted business men and I'd be glad if it's doomed to fail pull the plug now but it's not its politics arse covering not financial question marks

Did you read the judges comments from the high court the other day?

Hahaha sorry I was on a roll - didn't read the judges comments but I'd assumed the adjournment meant they had seen something they thought was credible?

£14k for the keeper

I wonder how much we could of got jussi for? Give him the chance to work with his son everyday

He's on 4K at wiggin .

He's on 4K at wiggin .

You know that how? but if true then it's a no brainer that he would have been a better bet than Amos, but hindsight is a wonderful thing, still wouldn't trust Lennon to get transfer targets right though, he's proved to me that he hasn't a fucking clue in the transfer market

I read it as he was less than convinced and the adjournment is more of a stay of execution.

Couldn't have been clearer there's a lot of shit needs sorting out pretty quick or it will hit the fan big style.

The issue for me is such big wage funds being tossed to Freedman and (in Amos and Madine's cases) Lennon without any relegation clauses being inserted.

Could maybe understand Freedman seducing PG and ED in the previous Summer transfer window that we'd piss promotion after his eye catching late run the back end of the previous season, but the wages chucked at Trotter and Feeney, players rejected by one of the smallest clubs in the bottom half of the Championship, beggar belief.

In Lennon's case, surely the picture was clearer this Summer, as little had been made available last Jan, and therefore no sense in throwing such huge wages after Amos when we'd other pressing priorities and, FFS, Madine isn't worth a weekly wage with a nought taken off.

Nixon's article, even if not 100% accurate highlights that our wage bill in League 1 will be bordering on ridiculous. As I live in the area and know at Oldham ST holder, I had sight of an article about their financial position the other day. There's a lot in it that would make those of us getting so exercised about our position take a step back and think it could be worse, but the stand-out thing was the sort of wages their players and management / coaching staff are on. If still with us next season (can't see how he wouldn't be), Trotter will earn as much in a week for trundling round as he does as their assistant  manager will earn in a year, while Madine's wages would buy you pretty much all their back four.
