There is the rub.

Probably why they've tried the softly-softly approach, and played to his ego.

Maybe worked, at least for a while.

But he quietly sees it as a sign of weakness.

Putin did similar, but then ignored whatever Trump tried.

Can't get his own way quickly, so he moves onto something else.

Stand up to him now, but not being overly aggressive so as to give him cause in his mind for kick-off, but to be somewhat dismissive of him, and simply say "no".

Just think, if he had used the art of the deal in the first place, he may well have been down the road in agreeing investment/mineral rights in Greenland.

I hope we do a deal instead.

Take that you rusted, long outdated, old piece of degraded machinery that belongs in a museum. Or in his case, a big fuck off jar.

He’ll be back to holding up pictures of drug addicts in Minneapolis by Friday

Well, he'll need something to distract, again, from the Epstein Files........

The thing is - if he'd had pitched this right, and made it about mutual security and shared wealth in the future as the ice caps melt - then there's a good chance he'd have got a lot more traction.

I very much doubt we've heard the last of this mind.

He’s going to shake hands, say pleasantries in person, then wake up tomorrow morning when they’re not face to face and go full keyboard warrior on his phone again on ‘truth’ social or whatever it’s called

@Spider I’m going to officially row back on my assertion the other day that I don’t think that he has dementia after seeing/hearing/reading his performance today

Disclaimer - you shouldn’t diagnose dementia from afar just from observation

That said, from the last couple of years working in that area he really is showing the signs of Frontotemporal dementia. This link was sent to me by a medic at work in response to a discussion about him

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/frontotemporal-dementia/symptoms/

Ticks rather a few boxes…..

But it might of course be bollocks and he’s fine with just a personality disorder

He does love an aggressive tweet (or whatever it's called on his platform) - you can almost guarantee that he'll be posting something in the early hours, about how he's managed to "win" with regards to Greenland/Iceland

It’s possible he can have dementia AND a personality disorder. I think he’s had the latter his whole life and developed the former in the last couple of years

I tend to agree, I think he's always been a bit of a sociopath, but recently he seems to becoming much more erratic and incoherent, like his brain isn't working properly.

Morning! You’re funny 🎣 .

Nope.  Dumb/Desperate/Dementia Donnie (you can take your pick today), is starting to panic. The Dems are on the march, the economy is tanking, and the US is more isolated than ever.  He needs to create artificial crises to invoke the Insurrection Act and cling to power. Oh, and to keep Epstein out of the news so he doesn’t get locked up. Tick tock.

 You are funny too pal. In the head.

Bonkers/Befuddled/Bi-curious Bertie (you should take your medication today) is starting to melt down.

I'm still not sure I understand why somebody in Australia, is happy that Hollywood "celebrities" are either happy or upset about anything. It's a bit odd.

I am.

I think Greenland is fine tbh. He’s moved onto Iceland now. Who knows “whatland” is next….perhaps he hasn’t taken his pills today after all.

I suggest that you do :D

Aawwwwww

Bolty is having a nightmare. You know he’s got nothing when he’s down to the single emoji posts.

His darling Trump has been schooled by those nasty Europeans and Sir Kier.

Love to see it

Absolutely, it's a no brainer.

The US already has a deal in place for military bases and personnel, so that wouldn't have taken a lot to get up and running again.

Simply talking to people about investment and deals, with people possibly already open to it, should be relatively painless.

I'll give you a little tale:

Years ago, my brother used to sell cars at a dealership.

One day, of the mechanics said he wanted to replace his car, and had his eyes on a second hand one they had in.

He said to my brother "I'll give you £700 for it".

Brother: "yes, that's fine".

Mechanic: "aren't you going to haggle or owt".

Brother: "OK then; £1000".

Mechanic: "£800".

Brother: "Done".

True story, and a lesson to the tangerine twat.

I don’t think anyone can argue with this point.

I think everyone (?) would agree that mass migration (esp in Europe) is a problem, as has been said many times under other topics. I think most people would also agree that the Trumpian solution of an ICE-type gestapo is wrong - a cruel and authoritarian solution. And no, I don’t know what the answer is, but as an island we should be able to do better than mainland Europe. (Controlled migration of course is much needed and welcomed).

We all know why Trump keeps peddling this line though, to stoke division and appeal to right-wing populist parties/people, to destabilise democracies and create opportunities for billionaire elites. He’d do better to keep his mouth shut and fix his problems at home.

Kettle Pot Black

Take a look in your own back garden Don lad.

Rutte mentioning NATO casualties in Afghanistan was a nice touch yesterday btw.

Does he think they went in to Iraq and Afghanistan on their own?

He does also say similar about parts of the US as well, when it suits.

He's not wrong though

His stance on NATO is particularly astonishing as the US are the only NATO country that have ever invoked Article 5, and plenty of non-US forces lost their lives as a result. He's an utter cunt. It's absolutely baffling that a former member of the British Armed Forces still worships him, in spite of his utterly shameful disresprect for the dead.

Donny didn’t answer the question about this framework.

wonder why

He's had his arse handed to hm with this whole Greenland nonsense; hence he's pretending there is a framework (that nobody else seems to know about) that they are working around.

All we do know, is that it'll be an amazing framework, the likes of which have never been seen before, some say it's the most framey of frameworks ever made, and Donald J Trump has built it, they said it couldn't be done, but everybody wants to be part of it
