Started watching last night

Switched off half way through as i was tired and couldn't concentrate after a big tea

Might try again but it didn't really grab me, but been told it's ace

went to watch again last night

turns out the reason it didn't grab me was I felt a bit lost and like i'd missed something

and the reason for that is, for some reason, I started watching from episode 3, not 1

started from 1 last night and found it much more enjoyable

episode 3 will now make full sense

The Janes - doc on Now/Sky

Scary given what's go on in the states in the past couple of months but its about these students who helped women get abortions safely before Roe vs Wade,

Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I' recomend everyone to watch it.

Binged all 4 series of Stranger Things last couple of weeks after never watching any of it.

Hmm.

For me it's been a mix of great, to tedious, to piss funny, to eye rollingly predictable, to out staying its welcome a bit in the end.

A 2.5 hour last episode that won't even end up being its final episode?! The whole Russian prison thread was pointless, the whole Russians being involved at all was poor and not required IMO.

But, it had its endearing moments too. I can see why the kids think it's ground breaking and incredible, but we've seen it all before haven't we? Buffy was saving the world from the hellmouth every week in the 90s 🤣

Anyway, see you in a couple of years for series 5.

I said to my lad that the Russia storyline didn’t make sense and he muttered something about season 5.

I just think they wanted to pad it out. Didn’t  work.

The Master of Puppets bit was pure class.

The whole having Russian soldiers in the US and in such large numbers didn't seem right at all to me, and how they somehow got everyone back to Russia between s3 and s4 with seemingly no issues was convenient.

(Also convenient was just jumping to "two weeks later" instead of properly dealing with the fallout from the battle in the last episode!)

Music was used brilliantly throughout I thought, the Master Of Puppets scene was ace! Its funny how it has brought loads of older artists and songs to a new audience, we had our young teenage niece saying "Running Up That Hill is the best song everrrr, have you heard of it?" last week 😃

BBC innit. Left wing agenda.

I've no doubt that crimes have been committed and I don't want that sweeping under the carpet but I'm also not sure it was the most responsible piece of programming to make or put out in the way that it was.

More than 90% of the actual footage they used was from Australian SAS ops. The email trail they've uncovered is incriminating, but a lot of the rest of it was conjecture.

In the end, who is most at risk when somebody potentially decides to take retribution for stories like this? The still anonymous members of this SAS team or the most visible and current serving members of the armed forces?

There are some unsavoury things in life which (and some would debate this) need to be done. The 'dirty work' if it can be so labelled, has to be done in the greater interest and I am sure that the same types which try to suppress discussion on certain issues within the UK will be along shortly to remonstrate that 'poor unarmed innocents' were unlawfully killed by what is in effect, an extension of the UK government.

These types of operation have been carried out for centuries and are far better left 'under the carpet' as you put it. Our greatest leader of all time resisted and ultimately brought about the demise of the most evil tyrant of all time. How many clandestine operations to take out prospective 'problems' do you think he would have sanctioned?

The bigger picture needs to be considered. We enjoy a life of freedom (slowly being whittled away by sinister forces I admit but still highly valued) which some of these activities contribute to in small but significant ways. The BBC should shut the fuck up about anything to do with our military operations and the Official Secrets Act should be strengthened to do so if necessary. All in the national interest.

This particular instance is of the same ilk of those troublemakers at the weekend F1 alleging racist, homophobic and misogynistic comments from the crowd on social media. Nothing more than shit stirring just for the sake of it (or to make themselves feel virtuous).

It's the cornerstone of any large democratic nation, to go into another country and slaughter innocent people at will without consequences.  Bloody leftists making an issue of it.

The struggle is real

It's going to be interesting to see how they can build the appendices of LotR into a full series.

Just finished Witness No. 3 on C5. 8/10. The lad playing Po (Italian actor?) was top drawer and reminded me very much of Joe Hawkins which some of a certain vintage might remember.

Well worth a watch.
