  • Not quite a show… but the missus has fallen asleep mid program; I do it all the time, just watch on… she doesn’t agree. She’s now fallen asleep 3 times during last 10 mins of episode of Outlaws.

I don't do social media unless you count this place. Too many outrage police sifting through every fucking thing to create controversy for my liking.

This is a case in point. My advice to this shit stirring tosspot would be to enjoy this series of Masterchef as it will likely be the last one to be enjoyed. The BBC strikes again. Fucked Top Gear. Fucked Masterchef.

Bolty likes Gregg Wallace.

Its all starting to make sense.

Enjoyed the Gone, thought the ending of the first one clever to leave up open for 2nd series, but disappointed with ending of the second as it was bit too contrived. Almost putting the idea of 3rd series was more important than the actual story.

Only watched 1 Ridley, filmed in Bolton so got a reference to Lostock in there, also filmed in Bradford so Allentown got a mention. As you say quite mild and the singing is just weird.

Given how good Adrian Dunbar's been in Line of Duty and other things I was hopeful about Ridley but didn't like the first series and gave up on ep 1 of this one before the end. As a vehicle for him it's really poor, hackneyed script full of crime drama cliches and that stuff in the jazz club is cringely bad.

The Ridley series is perfectly described by hackneyed. Background telly.

Let’s hope Gary gets the award. Richly deserved.

It would be good to upgrade his OBE too. Sir Gary has a ring to it. Up there with Sir Gareth. Legend of the game and English TV entertainment royalty.

Will he have an album out for Christmas?

"Adrian Dunbar & the sweet jazus & mary chain sing Christmas".

Fuck me gently - I hope there is no chance on Earth of anyone ever showing him this thread. Might give him ideas.

The last season of Yellowstone was shite.....

Definitely worth watching 1883 & 1923 👍

Just finished 1883.

Outstanding.

Onto 1923. Going to be proper annoyed if they don’t at least mention the FA Cup

The Assassin was gash.

Sacked it after 2 episodes

Just finished Series 1 of The Jury

Found it fascinating

Hope I never have one considering my fate

Just watched the one of the guy who held on by his fingernails 15,000ft up on Everest

It was a real cliff hanger

I’m not really a telly enthusiast but I watched Destination X and I thought I thought it was great. Only me?

Just found out there's a new series of documentaries by Adam Curtis on iPlayer

Called Shifty

Watched first one

Initial impression is that the 2020s isn't too dissimilar from the 1980s in terms of societal issues and reactions

Back then it was Thatcher's doing, trying to cling on to a past that wasn't even that good to begin with

Mrs recorded it on Ch4 so might be on their catch up

To be clear it’s The Jury: Murder Trial not The Jury from a while back when you’re searching

That thick girl with the daft pink bit in her hair had decided she was not guilty before it was announced what she was accused of.

Only done one season of 1923, cant say i enjoyed it as much as 1883.

Anyway Alien Earth is pretty good, and the doc on Netflix about Hurricane Katrina is worth a watch.

Just about to start King & Conquerer.

Noticed some black actors in there which will rattle some snowflakes

Not seen anyone mention King & Conqueror. I know we've heard it all before but English history remains compelling no matter how many times and ways you've heard the story told.

Hanging out for the next episode every time.

Thanks for this. Love the Adam Curtis stuff and been wondering for a while when he might do something new. Tends to be released under the radar.

I'll get onto it this weekend.

Its ok, its not history though, and not that good as even light entertainment. Its the portrayal of Edward the Confessor that had me nashing my teeth, and Hadrada as a bullish oik rather than a respected and intelligent ruler he was? The costumes are crap as well.

Its one of the most interesting episodes in medieval history featuring Anglo Saxons, Normans, Scandinavians, Bretons - there's no need to create a new fiction with a script that seems to be aimed at 12 year olds.

Anyway, still watched it mind as James Norton is very good, but such a let down as I was really looking forward to it.
