We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Randall or mcatee? Can’t see it being Morley.

For all that SS seems to rate Morley. McAteer too but he's been troublesome with his attendance, timekeeping & booze.

Morley he seems less committed to.

Anyway, it'll come out in the wash.

Our £1m+ signings under FV have been McAtee, Randall, Collins... anyone else? Plus Gale for £700k.

Huddersfield spent a million each on Taylor and Dion last January and have gotten nothing back.

Not a lot of value in these medium sized deals really.

Add Schon for a reported £800k

money absolutely spunked

So, we don’t need a right back then? This is top priority, assuming Cogley is leaving.

Centre back? We’ve just paid 6-figure transfer fee for a centre back.

Number 10? We’re overflowing with 10s. We can’t get another in, without shifting at least two of them. Moreover, we have an 18 year old 10 - Toby Ritchie - who deserves a look before we waste any more precious money.

Yes, we need a left sided centre back. Johnston is nowhere near good enough, his errors have cost us again again and again, he was error prone 5 years ago and is the same now. Don't even get me started on Taylor.

The young centre back you referenced is a project for the future not to be pushed in to try and get promotion.

We need a solid more experienced head to play alongside Toal. Doesn't even have to be bank breaker, just another option instead of Johnston every week. Toal on the left side is miles worse than when he's on the right.

You referenced Toby, I actually know him and would love for him to get a chance. But would also equally like the board to put their hands in their pockets and invest. And back Schuey at least remotely how they backed Evatt stupidly.

We are the biggest club in the league and are trying to get promoted. Time to act like it.

Cannot fathom this logic. Personally dont think Dalby is good enough to cut it in the Championship so if our plan was to get promoted this season, we'd be looking to pot him relatively soon. Is how my thought process would be anyway.

Bottom line is we (SS) expected them to be better.  Both on fee transfers so IF they were good they were a bargain, if compared to Vic at half a mil Dalby is still a bargain.  If we'd gone up in his time here he'd probably have increased his value, even if only £250k to a L1 team or Scotland, but enough to justify the longer contract to stop him leaving on a free.

The other factor is he must have had other offers, the length of contract would have swung it in our favour.  Phew!

Hindsight and all that.

Probably why he's always parked on the hatching next to the disabled bays on a match day, got to park as close as possible to make up the time.

At least he's not like Stelios who actually parked in the disabled spaces at the gym. 😁

You've never Bonham or Harrington play and you've only seen Broome about 3 times :D

Can't say I'd seen any of our recent goalkeepers play for anyone before coming here.

Maybe that has been part of the problem! :)

Not sure what criteria you are using there, and moreover, it's immaterial.

It's down to money; we don't have any, and are making a loss. Only the Swiss have enabled our recent spending (spunking).

That can't last for ever, so to expect the same that Evatt got, is to ignore the financial situation.

It's not done a great deal of good for us neither, so maybe the manager needs to show some improvement before they gamble any more.

As soon as they submit the accounts it'll be lifted. They do this every year.

Cogley confirmed to Stockport.

Just seen on Twitter, good luck to him, not really done much wrong, he's a decent League 1 wing back, never more but not less.

They must see him as important, and they're doing pretty well.

Guess we'll see in the fullness of time.

That just about sums it up.

Anyway Evatt had a habit of signing decent League 1 players who were only ever going to take us so far. JDC is an example and at 29 it is good we have got a fee for him.

He will probably do a decent job for Stockport but only if they play a way that suits him.

Evatts fault making him play when injured injections before games just to get through instead of taking him out because he would r change tactics playing out from the back

I wouldn’t give him fuck all to spend let him sell a couple if possible and use that . Then work at improving the players he as all ready got . If he can’t do that pot him in the summer and give the new manager any money that we do have

Keshi Anderson is the latest rumour. Agent been in for talks..

add that to Ryan Hardie and Elliott Lee from Wrexham

My criteria is based on history, trophies won, but more importantly even today, we are getting 22,000 fans on average after 5 consecutive seasons in the 3rd tier.

My point is the board and the players on the pitch need to show the same drive and ambition as the fans are that are turning up week in week out.
