Ashworth certainly looked more than capable at LWB against Barrow. Him and Thomason were the best of the players who came in. Biggest flaw in the side from Tuesday is still up front Jerome, Dan and Adeboyajo all missed gilt edge chances. A missing back up rwb isn't going to hinder us as much as the drop off in goal output after Charles.

Depends on how good the RWB is

"Can play" but don't really play is a bit of a problem as far as I'm concerned, at least for such an important position

By my reckoning, we have three genuine wing-backs - Randell, JDC, and John

I’m not sure what the definition of a wing back is (although even I can see Dapo and Sadlier aren’t wingbacks) but when Jones plays there he’s every bit as good as those 3. Attacks well, defends well, decent strength and heading, can assist, potential scorer with head and foot, calm and dependable in possession, doesn’t give away needless free kicks, and is a leader. Comfortably better overall than JDC from what I’ve seen so far.

When you’ve got £25m burning a hole in your pocket and you need replacements it becomes more about what your willing to spend on a player over what the other club would actually take 

I don't mind GT,think he's got something about him,but he does seem be a little limited in a few aspects of his game.1 million for him is a very good offer as long as it doesn't include  out of reach add ons l

Yep. I'll chip in if needed. The mind boggles. No brainer for us to sell him for whatever they've offered. 

Make some money and means more chance of actual footballers like mendes gomes and maghoma getting more minutes. 

About as win win as you can get.

Like any player, he's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for him.

How else can you possibly determine what a player is "worth", other than what someone is willing to pay for them? It is what it is. Some transfers turn out to be bargains, some turn out to be massive mistakes. Wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

A bargain suggests you get a player for less than they are worth

Eg a club can be desperate to sell  

Other clubs can find themselves paying over the odds  or are desperate to buy

Eg they've just had a windfall or are loaded and the selling club knows it 

And then there are free transfers

No sleep lost here 

I just don't agree with sentiment, I laugh at it

Does the German Charity Sheild count  as a real trophy?  I know when Liverpool supporters are doing their lists of which club in England has won the most trophies they don't include the Charity Shield for some reason
