Lets hope he continues to improve on the pitch. Assuming he’s turned down a decent pay rise, so a risk, but must be confident in his ability. Quote
onefinfrandsen Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 Delighted for GT, convinced he’s made the right decision, clearly got his head screwed on. The whole environment around the club and the way IE and his team coach these players, it must be a great place to be for a young player to learn his trade. Quote

If some of those larger fees are spread of over 5, 6 or 7 years, then they may not be in too much bother yet......but failing to qualify for the CL will see them in the shit I'd have thought. Their wage bill must be fairly interesting 3 hours ago, DirtySanchez said: Think uefa are trying to clamp down on this rule so for FFP its worked out over 5 years regardless of the length of contract Apparently they were exploiting a loop hole UEFA have now closed but the PL haven't No issue this season because they aren't in Europe But might be next season Dunno what will happen then a one thing is for sure They might have given Caciedo an 8 year contract but Brighton won't be getting £115m over 8 years, it will be two or three installments if not all at once Quote

Dion suits Evatt's playing style and is valued here for his workrate as much as his goals plus we're starting to see glimpses of what could become a successful partnership with Victor - so it would be a risk for him to move on just now. I'd be disappointed if he went in this window for a pay rise - even more so if he stayed but used the publicity to lever more money out of us. Ultimately though we're a business. Quote
Zico Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Imagine a transfer window where Charles leaves for £750k and Thommason turns down a £1m move Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Do you reckon either of those clubs would offer £750000? Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Harry Macguire's move to Wet Spam collapses. Apparently his wage in East London would be less than that in Stretford (esp. After their first team got a raise for getting a European Cup spot) so wants a £7m pay-off for leaving early to make up for that. A fully fledged member of the greedy twat brigade then. Will some unheard of, unpronounceable Arab mob come in for him ? Quote

Or the club felt it is in their best interests to do so? Do you really think he's gone and said "I'll stay, but only for more dosh"? Quite simply silly, and doesn't stand up to scrutiny- the club had accepted the offer, so were happy to let him go. Hardly suggests they were open to a touch of blackmail! Quote

If GT can get an offer of £1m, then you'd anticipate a striker banging plenty in would perhaps attract a bid somewhat bigger. Anyway, let's hope if doesn't happen. Quote

If a player turns down a move its sort of standard etiquette that you offer them a new deal. That fact that its took about 12 hours from him turning them down to him signing a 5 year contract tells me it was a very, very straight forward process. Quote
