It’s our business model now. Buy low, improve the player, sell on, rinse and repeat. Now we’re doing well on the pitch the players who are driving us in that are clearly going to catch the attention of others. 
 

but we seem to be in a position these days where we don’t need to sell. Anyone who does move on we will get a fair fee for and that’s driven by us 

I'm more concerned about our dependence on Santos - our insurance whilst we press high.

Depends upon how much football he thinks he will get there I suppose. 

He's started one, and come on twice so far, and may well become more regular yet.

He may see that as being better long term, which is probably a more intelligent approach to a career. 

Having faith in his ability to make it elsewhere is one thing, but he may also not have as much knowledge of nor confidence in the Bristol squad as he does here.

If it was a premier league club, then of course things may look different.

he's clearly not worth £1M but I don't get any of the transfer fee or get to spend it, so I'm not fussed about how much he goes for really, we're not desperate and the club is in a good place

and we've got a player who really wants to be here and will do a job whenever he's called upon this season

and he will be called up

especially with games due to be another 15 mins longer than normal

I think he's a bit daft not taking the move and would have liked to see how we reinvested the money as I'm really not sold on his potential. 

But fair play to the lad, there's no harm in having players here that love the club and are committed to the project, hope he proves me wrong and turns in to a long term option for us up the leagues.

if we really dont need some money, absolutely no issue with him staying as he seems a good lad

if it means a first teamer goes, its a bit shit though

Indeed, I don't see that he'd be starting in the Championship very often.......but then again, I didn't think that Josh Vela would/could ever have a career as a footballer, so it shows how little I know

Back to the worth- seems more than one club offered the cash and we accepted, so that would define his monetary value. 

His playing value to us may be more, time will tell.

Weirdly, I think he will more likely shine at a higher level, alongside better players.

Someone said elsewhere that he is thriving off the Maryport monster, and we can all see how well he's doing for us now. Augers well.
