  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Murphy joined Newcastle from Galway United in July 2022 and has been regularly featured in the first team squad under Eddie Howe, making his debut as a substitute against Chelsea in November 2023.

2 sub appearances last season

I'll caveat that by I've never seen either of them play.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I'm not sure why it's him over Conway.

I'll caveat that I've never seen him play and he could be clearly superior, but his only experience is league of Ireland games and then EFL trophy. Compare that to Conway who has been playing for a winning team all season in league 2 and I'd go for Conway.

I don't get the immediate distrust of our youth over someone else's less experienced youth.

Is Conway not on a season long loan??

and just in case he is, can I be the first to say he's shit.

He is now. We had an option at the start of Jan to bring him back

Even though he’s apparently a natural left back, expect him to get thrown in like for like over Johnston in the back three

He'll be playing right wing back then :D

Anything you care to caveat? :)

I suspect we're intending on utilising Murphy as the left centre-back at times, which is a role Conway doesn't really play

Alex Murphy in on loan

Eddie Howe?

We need a LCB so hopefully a good signing. Get him straight in tomorrow night.

Welcome young man.

The timing of selling dc so quickly now means that we face a 2nd game with very limited striker options. Poor planning/management?

Struggling to see any positives with how we're run ATM. The beatings will continue until moral improves.

The new Bradley

Well, if we're having trouble scoring, he could always just grab the ball, and charge over the line, grounding the ball.

Yeah…..but where’s Drogba?

Maybe he's the piece needed to try this 442 diamond, id love for it to be a yes, the formation works and the Evatt love returns. Fingers crossed

Watched the Cambridge game from the stand and still came!  Good man, let's get behind him.

With Toal back hopefully this week and Murphy in, a chance to reorganise the defence whether Back 4 or 3/5

He knows exactly what we need

Solid at the back with Drogba in attack

Drogba now would be better than our shit nevermind in his prime

I do wonder if this is the beginning of the end for Johnston. Shadow of his former self and even then wasn’t that great.

i think he - along with the rest of em - has been poor, but i also know stoke were very keen pre injury

i think thats why we gave him the deal we did
