This rumour that Schuey might be looking at Nathan Lowe at Stoke with a view to a loan....not sure if it has legs but Lowe is a good kid and did well in L2 for Walsall.

He's been out on loan this season so couldn't sign in Jan but he did well by all accounts and I'd def hope he'd be looking to raid Stoke academy

Think he played for Stoke in January so can’t be done

Shame really because he does have an eye for goal, takes up great positions and is two footed.

Not being match fit shouldn't prevent a player being 'signed'.

It really should when we are trying to fix problems caused by pissing about for the previous part of the season

He played a full 90m in Stoke's win at Hull last weekend.

I'm guessing that getting a proper out and out finisher is beyond our means - but I live in hope.

With Jatta going to Plymouth I wouldn’t be surprised if Michael Obafemi’s name popped up for us on a loan as a temporary Dion replacement if we’re seeking pace up top.

This season is basically a write off. Summer window is going to be the important one. Just need to tick over till then.

Hardly a write off when we're level on points with 6th place!

I understood that before releasing him to us Championship club Cardiff gave him a new contract.

He's THAT shite in the eyes of a club who've employed him for over 2 years prior to his recent injury.

Is the issue not that he's "shite", more that he didn't appear to be match fit and also that he had no time to be integrated with his new teammates or the style of play etc.  Thrown in at the deep end with the match in the balance.

I was one that thought it a mistake to play him, I stand by that, it doesn't mean he'll never be any good for us (or Cardiff).  But SS has arguably made it harder for him to get off to a good start by exposing his lack of readiness and not giving him a few training sessions/fitness sessions first (not to mention getting to know everyone).

When managers bring on a player for the last 15 minutes and he bags the winner, you hear fans and media saying what a fantastic substitution, he got that one right and bollocks to anyone that doubted the player coming on.  So if it goes the other way and costs you the game, rightly or wrongly it seems reasonable to say he got that one wrong, managers can't have it both ways.

Giving a new manager 3 days to overhaul the squad and turn it around? Get a grip.

nah, you need to get a grip, the squad is good enough to get into the play-offs, hardly needs an overhaul, more like a change in direction with a new perspective which is hopefully what the new manager will bring

squad doesn't need an overhaul

we're joint 6th with 19 games to go

JD just got two wins in a row by not being IE

the aim of getting into the play offs will have been a big factor in getting rid of IE now

I have more faith that we can win the play offs this season than i ever did under Evatt.

Ha ha, they've tried similar with me on wines.  You asked for cat food, we've replaced it with dog food.

Dunno how true it is but I hope it is, once asked an Asda delivery driver what the best substitute he'd seen and he told me one person had ordered one of those 3 courses and a bottle of wine type deal, the fancy sounding linguine starter had sold out and the creative picker opted to replace it with 2 giant scotch eggs.

We're 9th with 17 games to go 😀.  You can't finish joint 6th, there are 8 above us, we've played a game extra.

We only have 8 home games left and no track record of winning many away, as IE took up most of the better fixtures  (and squandered a lot of them).

It would be a brilliant run of results if SS got us to 6th or higher, no pressure from me for him to do that with the squad he's been left by IE.

This sqaud is more than capable of putting a decent run together.

It's now up to SS to prove Evatt wrong about their attitude.

There was always the off chance of promotion via the playoffs, even with Evatt. Long term we'll be looking more realistically towards next season. Could work out for the best if we do finish in the top 6, as there won't be much pressure.
