Moving CMG on loan or selling him on you’d think would be an aim tomorrow.

I take it this would free a space in the squad wouldn’t it?

I don’t think Jones will go, he’s useful and I don’t think would be too much of a problem as a predominantly back up player for the rest of the season.

I reckon Baxter and Santos will go. Their admission over the past few weeks, the fact it’s now or never to cash in and also the fact that they’d be seen as starters in the squad (I.e. not the same position as Jones) means I can’t see how they stay.

Williams - wasn’t an obvious one until his post on social media. Could be in the same position as Jones but he really has been shit in the main since day one. I’d be delighted to see the back of him.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a few loans in. Low risk for SS considering he’s only just through the door (and use some favours from contacts). Then properly assess what’s needed in the summer.

Centre back (especially is Santos goes) and centre mid. Possibly a forward but depends what he thinks CMG can contribute for the rest of the season.

Seems strange that, not sure what he's done wrong and SS won't know enough about him to assess yet.  One of our better players 2nd half of last season IMO.

And if he's unfit etc, nobody's going to take him anyway.  What sort of club takes a forward that's clearly unfit who's done absolutely nothing all season?

What are we all expecting tomorrow boys and girls ?

Busy day of ins and outs?  Williams, santos, jones out ?   I don't have major beef with Santos but definately think for the club going forward we should get shut - he will always be seen as evatts man and always under scrutiny for walking round with the ball etc.

Signing positions?     Centre half, centre mid ?   A couple of 'statement' signings would be nice but understandably difficult ,  any road am looking forward to an interesting day tomorrow.

Looks like Baxter is off  Evatt, Darby and Schumacher have all put Southwood in before him

Williams seems to be frozen out.  Jones has been bad Since Australia.....Good offers for anyone but Collins i would listen too.

Arfield, Gomes, Vic  all need replacing.

Lolos is another frozen out recently......Anybody know if Dempsey is out for the season.....Has Gomes had a set back

What is Forino up to.

If Markham is still in charge of recruitment we might bring in two or three for the physio to work on until May

Don’t think he’s done anything wrong.

Just looks an obvious one to get out on loan, if he’s not injured.

Im hypothesising, but I suspect conversations between Darby/SS will have led SS to see that CMG is behind our other 6 forward players currently, so would benefit from a loan spell out.

Folk not getting in their parent clubs sides/squads/benches at one level are prime players for being loaned out to a lower level.

Have we got any rumours?

santos / Baxter are apparently worldies so would assume someone will be in for them tomorrow.

CMG I can’t see going anywhere as he’s not fit / very good

There's quite a few I'd be happy to let go. Coleman, Santos, Baxter. Mendes Gomes, Victor and Randell Williams can all go for me don't think we'll  see many go out as I can't see SS being able to bring replacements in in time, think we might get a couple in at best.

Bolton Wanderers ... Etete

I know, I was being ironic.

I bet nobody's taking our crocks, just like nobody else in L1 is paying high/over the odds transfer fees like what we do.

Really do hope that Etete can deliver the goods, but at the moment he seems a headscratcher.

The manager admitted that he can't be rushed, and needs time, so presumably he won't be starting many initially.

When on the pitch, he will have contribute quickly or it seems a waste of a loan.

Even if he turns out to be half decent, which seems a stretch, I'm not comfortable with the "fact" (assumption on my part) that this signing was lined up for Evatt, so SS is already one down on bringing in his own men (2 if you include Murphy).  As if his task wasn't already hard enough inheriting IEs squad.

I think Evatt give Markham a brief of the kind of player he wanted......Markham then goes and looks at the data on said players.

It is obvious that Markham  tries to bring in a player that given time will be  a grade up on what  is also available.

The downside of that is they are coming back from usually 6/12 month injuries and can be a big gamble.

For all Evatts faults he would not have Etete anywhere near the first team Saturday.

Schumacher is not used to working this way and would have thought Etete was a gamble worth taking.....Doubt bar the Papa johns we will not see him this side of March

Schumacher will never make that mistake again

I'm hoping Santos stays, you dont get into team of the season every year if you're rubbish, plus, he won't have to do Evatts instructions anymore. Could be a new player under Shoemaker

Not disagreeing with any of that, fair points but 1. why did he make that mistake at all, rule no.1 would surely be using players that are fit and/or integrated and that you've preferably seen play!  (I'm not having a dig at SS, I'm just surprised, especially as we still had 2 other strikers on).

2. the point stands that SS is apparently being given players he hasn't had a say in (other than at the interview process you could imagine he would have agreed to a lot of things, as people do when they want a sought after job).

Just let managers manage, that doesn't mean let him sign who the hell he wants dishing out loads of long contracts, but he should be leading the way on signings not the other way round.

Could be.

But if he's made his mind up, and won't sign, then at some point we have to cut our losses.

If we can get a bit for him, then so be it.

I’m not going to be so controversial that I’m saying I saw something different to everybody else about Etete yesterday.

But it was 20 minutes. 20 mins. I’m not writing somebody off for the next couple of months on the back of 20 mins!

And I doubt Schumacher will.

If Schumacher makes this “mistake” again how are you going to react?

Its not beyond the realms of realism that Schumacher works with him this week and sees a role for him in the games coming up.

Everyone out of contract in the summer if possible sell tomorrow then keep the money for next season .  Couple of loan signings till the summer goal keeper to replace Baxter for example

Sounds a bit defeatist that, have you written this season off? Level on points with 6th (ok GD might come into play), 6 points off 4th and new manager bounce to come.

If we'd won yesterday (which we should have) we would be in 6th, hell, even a draw would've had us in 6th.

I suspect it's not for nothing that he hasn't even been picked in the matchday squad in any of our last six, and that period covers three different managers

A bit of a shame, I think, but they see him in training and there might well already have been conversations had

It is what it is

It is not a case of writing him off......He has 4 months only to make a impact...He is 6 weeks from being match fit ie a normal close season.

Not a fan of Vic but he is a country mile ahead of Etate in fitness terms.

Would not surprise me if we see another Target man come in Tomorow.......One Schumacher worked with previously

This is only based on a brief glimpse of him, but his first few touches suggest he might be good with the ball at his feet and clearly Spurs must've seen something in him to sign him as a teenager

Ditto Cardiff City

His hold-up play and his ability to press leave a lot to be desired, though (the later might be a result of him returning from injury)

If, as seems the case, there isn't a possibility of him staying here permanently, I still think it's a strange signing

Well it was interesting that in his post match interview yesterday SS indicated there would be one or two in and that can’t happen without one or two out so I expect some are already done deals. Like others I think most likely are Santosvand Baxter and maybe there was more to Jones missing out yesterday than meets the eye. It also still wouldn’t surprise me if there was interest from Swansea for Josh and at his age and with replacements I’d definitely let him go. Could be a very busy day tomorrow one way or another.

I agree but he shouldn't have come on in that game as he was clearly not up to speed either in fitness terms or knowing his teammates. I fully appreciate that Victor needed a rest after working his nads off, but SS could have switched things up tactically without risking him.

Etete has good feet and will make a good focal point once he's ready but got slaughtered mainly because of the pen and the attempted header of the cross that was just too high for him anyway - once he gets to know his teammates better he'll sort out the positioning and movement etc and be able to drag us up the park.

Be happy to see the back of Santos. Unlikely it’ll be tomorrow so will have him until the end of the season. In what capacity I don’t know because Forresters form in that centre position warrants him keeping the spot

just as we needed a change from IE I think it’s time Santos has a change from us. The aggro he got after Wembley has clearly taken its toll. Just get this feeling he’s not as bought in anymore.

If he’s just asked to defend then he’s an asset. But I think the last 4 and a half years are that ingrained in him he’ll still want to carry on doing what he’s done which isn’t what we want or need. Not much confidence in him being able to adapt.

Baxter, inevitable he’ll be off. Think the thought a step down to L1 would be a short term thing. He clearly thinks he’s a champ level keeper. Decent shot stopper but nothing else shows me that to be honest. Happy with Southwood moving forward.

there’ll be some big changes over the summer which is needed to rid the scars of Wembley
