We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Another one thrust into a role he wasn't suited for?

He had a good throw on him, that’s about it, won’t be missed. Shit out on loads of tackles which wasn’t a good look for a defender.

Don’t think the LWB role suited him , not bad going forward though .

Depends what role Orient want him for , think he may well do ok there.

Yep. I liked him and never understood the stick he got. But I don't really understand the stick any of our players get. Must be something wrong with me.

Saw this earlier

They've unveiled him as a forward

If one player encapsulated what Evatts wanderers side of the last couple of years was about it was Williams

nice guy, good moments, but didn’t work hard enough, didn’t wanna get hurt  and was ultimately a disappointment

I always thought Williams needed a damn good wash

Odd that he's only signed a six-month contract

midfield/winger, made to play as a wingback,

with a centre 3 he wasn't there to put in the crunching tackles, hope he does well as he gets more grief than he deserves.

The lights are still on at the ground.

Williams signed for Orient until the end of the season.

Richie Wellens is the last manager that I can imagine taking to Williams version of "putting a shift in".  Having seen his style of man management on the Salford documentary, I can see him ripping into Williams for not winning a few tackles and Randall just looking at him as if he's got a screw loose and carrying on with his languid style regardless.

Is this like us looking for the tower ?

So much for the energy saving plan

He was signed to be the left sided version of bradley, ie WB

Not in the same unviverse, obviously, but fucking hell 'made to play as a wingback'

I would agree hes not as shit as some would have it, but he may as well fuck off and i doubt he will be missed

He would still be expected to track back and "defend" though.

Simply not so good at it.

Don't entirely blame him though, it's a thankless task, and if he's expected to get forward and provide width, then he can't be expected to get back into a full back's position instantly.

We're still vulnerable in behind the wingbacks.

That's why I've ways believed in two more solid midfielders, to be able to cover if necessary.

They were on last night as well. Rushed home looking for a pic of a Drogba alike.

Anyone bemoaning Williams going did not go to Rotherham on a shit day he was by far the worst . Last time I saw a Bolton player have such a poor game it was v Villas kids in the Vertu and it was Williams.

I was at Middlebrook at 10pm last night and the lights weren't on, it was just that orange glow caused by the pitch heaters or whatever they are, they are on every night and visible for miles around.

My wife's driven past half an hour ago and she said its the same as last night, no floodlights on.

Are we still able to bring in loan players after the transfer deadline has passed?

yes

players out off contract yes.....loans no

It's not the best transfer window it has to be said:

-sold our only pacey striker but got a big striker we've been asking for. Whether this Etete is any good we will see, but ideally we'd have got him in and lost Vic or McAtee (I understand Charles wanted to go, I'm just saying forward options now look worse to me)

-brought in Randall and lost Arfield. Undoubtedly an upgrade but not the midfield player we need imo.

-brought in Murphy as LB/LWB and lost Williams. Possibly an upgrade physically but Williams did have his moments and looked better on the right recently.

All in all, not the changes we needed to "move the dial", but managed well there's still a reasonable chance of top 6
