Not sure that was ever the plan though 

It was sell Charles and bring in prime drogba which I assume who Etete is

Just can't see another striker coming in now

I wouldn't dwell too much on who is where in table, or who we've struggled against under IE too much 

We're one point off being in the play offs with 17 games left and a new manager with a good track record

Yes, now that we have a competent manager, I'd agree its an anyone can beat anyone type of a season (excluding Brum realistically). 

Upto mid Jan, it was a we can't beat anyone in top half or Wigan or Rotherham or Blackpool away type of a season, with the fixtures left we were heading down the table not up.   

Plenty to be optimistic about now but we'd have had an even better chance without the inexplicable delay in changing manager.  SS should have been given a fair crack of the whip (if nothing else, those 2 very winnable home games v Cambridge and Charlton).

But nothing to fear/nothing to lose now.

Well I’m not trying to be funny but everybody else seems to have managed to find players to strengthen their squads yet we with Markham and the Lunatics can’t seem to find anybody to improve ours. IE going has nothing to do with it and letting our main striker leave for a competitor without a replacement, which Etete isn’t in any way, seems at least careless. Of course the play offs are still mathematically a possibility but I’m afraid even the most optimistic must now be stretching it a bit with this squad. Good players yes but good team not for me.

Brought in 3 players and changed the manager in January.

If Schumacher can get them playing as we've seen they can jobs a good un.

We’ve not had that chasing down defenders for months anyway. Charles threw the towel in months ago.

Used to love him harassing defenders.

A season or two too late. He'll not get any games here & it opens up a space if there's an option available.

Well yes, 2 points out of 5 games against the top 5 under IE, aggregate score 0-11 (eleven).

One of the many reasons our only hope was to get rid.  We knew that ages ago though, and now SS needs to better than average to pull back some of the dropped points.

There's room in the squad for a signing if Arfield and Williams are on their way out but Iles ain't confident. Like most other folk I still think we need a midfielder with some physique. 

Overall though..not too fussed. Just relieved we've got rid of Evatt and enjoying the honeymoon period for the new set up. Win, lose or draw this season .... we're building for the future again.
