Cosgrove gone to Stockport .

Would have liked to have seen some signings. But I suppose we can’t underestimate the cost of getting shut of Evatt and his minions.

SS making a favourable early impression with the Chief Finance Officer, manage with a smaller squad, trim the wage bill. Bit concerned that there's a lot of scoring responsibility resting with Collins but otherwise, with those coming back, we ought to have enough to stay in the mix for the last play off spot.

Assuming we don't get a midfielder in, then there will have to be some business in the summer.

Matete is on loan, Dempsey will have had another long spell out, and Sheehan will be starting the final year of his contract.

SS may see Sharples-Ahmed as part of his set up, we'll have to see, but we could be well short in that department.

Not surprised, can see him as a good wide forward in a 4-3-3.

He was a winger at Exeter , scored past us in league two. He's shite though , won't miss him one bit.

he looked decent at RWB (pre Rotherham) and thought he might be a decent option to JDC.

Then saw the Orient video with him flouncing by the touchline with that fucking hair and thought fuck him.

Arfield to Falkirk.

While it would have been nice to get another forward in, I wasn’t expecting it.

Squads big enough.

In terms of numbers we’ve cover everywhere.

Lets see what SS can do with the tools he’s been given

One day your head will pop from too much positivity 😁

Falkirk fans treating Arfield's return like the second coming of Christ.

Go figure.

So forwards wise.

Victor

McAtee

Collins

Gomes

Etete

We'll be reet!

Could add Randall and Lolos to that too!

true, both clealy able to get a goal from midfield, plenty of options there though, and reckon McAtee is a diamond just waiting to be polished!

It’s a message to the players to say that there’s no one being jettisoned in to play in front of you. A chance for them to perform and stay in the side. A streamline squad could now gather a bit of siege mentality under the new regime in their play-off push.

It's not the best transfer window it has to be said:

-sold our only pacey striker but got a big striker we've been asking for. Whether this Etete is any good we will see, but ideally we'd have got him in and lost Vic or McAtee (I understand Charles wanted to go, I'm just saying forward options now look worse to me)

-brought in Randall and lost Arfield. Undoubtedly an upgrade but not the midfield player we need imo.

-brought in Murphy as LB/LWB and lost Williams. Possibly an upgrade physically but Williams did have his moments and looked better on the right recently.

All in all, not the changes we needed to "move the dial", but managed well there's still a reasonable chance of top 6

Plus Morley has come back

The squad is probably stronger now than it was a month ago and the wage bill might well be a bit lower, but the metrics of two of your players now at clubs higher in the league than us aren't good.

It is what it is but at least we’ve got a manager with some flexibility to make best use of the squad we do have. Cant deny that we have some talent but we just need to blend that into a more robust team now if we’re to seriously challenge the top six.

True, I was just comparing transfers but with Morley back as well as buying Randall the midfield is definitely stronger for depth. I'd still argue the same point that we didn't get the tough tackling midfielder we needed to move the dial.

The squad is massive, too big really as it's meant we didn't have that much room to manoeuvre on transfers. And while we have cover everywhere there's too many of the same kind of player and a few sick notes, so it doesn't give us depth to change games in the way you'd like.

Rectifying this is a job for the summer though, not rushing through in 2 days since SS has been here

That’s the reality the twatter mob are blind too.

Apart from a few moronic fans I think most people see the situation for what it is and see we are in a better place now than we were a few weeks ago.

Once you get over the poor timing of Evatt’s departure, the rest all makes sense and probably sets us up better for the future.

Whether that’s the play-off push for the rest of this season or an assault on automatics next season.

I’m suspecting SS might have run the rule over a couple of trusted players he’s worked with/aware of, knowing they were probably untouchable or not what we need. So rushing through more gambles suits nobody.
